The beginning of the End (Artefact Battle) (PvP)
#9
Mitsuki watched on for a while as the gas from Hood’s grenade slowly expanded towards him. Judging from the reactions of those involved, it was a poisonous gas, probably hallucinogenic, given the Hooded man’s explanation. Sparing no more time for thought, the Shinobi inhaled deeply and weaved the appropriate hand seals.

“ Fūton: Daitoppa!” The boy cried out and exhaled a stream of chakra laced wind gushed forth, cutting a path into the cloud of gas. The ninja took a step forwards, producing a Kunai from within his pouch. He spun the knife around his finger and caught it in a backhanded grip before darting towards the Hooded man and his pursuer.

“Just to return the favour, I’m about to be your worst nightmare.” echoed through the gas as he closed the gap between them, his features drawn into a determined glare. The gas had begun to spread back into the alley created by Mitsuki’s Wind release, time was short. He dropped his stance slightly, lowering his shoulders towards the ground and released a burst of inhuman speed, reaching the engaged two in a matter of seconds. He ground to a halt as it appeared the woman moved in to strike, weaving another pair of hand seals and muttering the jutsu’s name, “Sen'ei Jashu.” A pair of deep emerald snakes emerged from within the boy’s sleeve and burst forth. The first coiled around the woman’s arm, digging it’s fangs into her wrist, the second missing it’s mark slightly as Joline had lunged towards Red Hood. It was enough, however, it ceased her assault and forced her to take a leap backwards as the snakes dissipated into nothingness once more. Mitsuki bolted once more, skidding to a halt in between the pair, kunai raised in a defensive stance.

“I cannot let you harm this man. He holds an artefact precious to Konoha and one of it’s inhabitants. I must return it to it’s rightful owner.” The Shinobi spoke, to neither participant in particular. He had no desire to engage the Hooded man, he’d prefer to acquire the Sword of Kusanagi on neutral terms, but he’d have to force him out of the fight for the time being. Fighting two against one in his current state was a mistake, something clear to the Shinobi from the very beginning. He took another deep breath, weaving the hand seals of Tiger, Ox, Dog, Rabbit and the Snake in quick succession and called out, once more, “Fūton: Daitoppa!” aiming the stream of destructive wind for Red Hood. The jutsu forced the man on the defensive and gave the Shinobi an opening. He clenched his free hand and threw an aimed punch into the air, directed for the Woman on his other side.

“Sen'ei Jashu!” The snakes were summoned into existence once again and burst forwards from Mitsuki’s sleeve, hurtling towards Joline. Almost instantaneously, the woman dragged her shield, Beskyttende, from her back and batted the snakes heads aside. The serpents hissed angrily before disappearing in a puff of white smoke, though, that was the feint. An attack aimed to draw her attention away from the Shinobi himself who had thrown himself into a sprint and closed the gap between them, Kunai poised to strike. Through whatever means, however, Joline saw through the feint, granting her the time to twist her body enough so that the Kunai only made contact with her side, slicing through the skin just above the hip with a sickening, bloodied crunch. Joline yelped and took another leap backwards, having avoided the brunt of the damage the Shinobi could have inflicted. She replaced the buckler at her back and whispered the words “Trace on” once more, summoning the pair of swords she had previously carried once again.
“You got a weird ability there, kid,” She spoke, “whoever the fuck decided to put snakes up your sleeve was a real ass.” The foreboding music echoed around the woman as she stooped low and burst forwards. She leapt into the air as she closed the gap and spun, blades held outward, forming a whirling cyclone of metal and pain. The Shinobi took stance once more, Kunai held defensively as he watched the woman’s rotated once more. He managed to catch the first blade with the Kunai while the second left a nice gash across Mitsuki’s cheek. He groaned in pain and fell back on his heels, blood trickling down toward his chin. The Shinobi wiped his cheek clean, however briefly, and tossed a Kunai toward the woman. She ducked low to avoid the knife, only to be met by a heavy knee to the chin from the Shinobi who had burst forward, using the knife as cover once again. Deception was the aim as Mitsuki found himself without the majority of his Justu.
