Hoshi no Guu (Star Piece Quest) (M)

Hours pass. It didn’t take long until the Melon girl got out of her own head and went to task, wrapping the wounds of Pitchen and Bani with the med kit that had been stored in Guu’s stomach. The walking piece of fruit could only do so much of course, she was only patching them up enough to keep them stable. While most of Pitchen’s damage was to his robotic parts, Bani was covered from head to toe in cuts and bruises, it was a shock that she was even alive.

Guu couldn’t help out herself as she was just sitting around, waiting for her own wounds to heal. As she watched the fruit bandage up her comrads, she felt that lingering feeling that Chuck had felt up to his last moments; the cruel mistress that was self-loathing. She never knew it existed in her until now. Before she could convince herself of anything, living in denial of what she is, but now it was obvious as day.

Wanting anything to distract her from this feeling, she attempted to strike up a conversation.

“How are they going to get real medical treatment out here?” She asked. Suddenly, she realized how shitty it was that it took an attempt at small talk to ask about her friends’ eventual fates.

Melani didn’t even look up from her work, instead, she pulled out her phone, tapped something on the touch screen and went back to bandaging Bani. A sharp ringing sound came from Guu’s stomach. Pulling out her phone, she noticed that the fruit had forwarded her a text.

“The fire that was blocking the closest path has been cleared, so we will be sending a Medic and an Engineer along to aid you. Be there as soon as possible.”

Guu couldn’t believe it. It only took a day or so to clear the fire, meaning if they had just waited around, they would have gotten here the easy way anyways.

She couldn’t take anymore of this. She had to escape herself. She shut off her brain and went to sleep. It was the only thing she could do right now.
