....only to be immediately sidetracked as she finally, fully, registered the immensity and sheer shininess of the city-verse. She'd been paying attention and trying to process the descriptions of the place she'd gotten on the way here, making every effort to form up some image in her head and get some kind of idea of what she was in for. But she had been spectacularly unsuccessful in such regard. All she'd really managed to envision was something vaguely like Toki Toki City but...bigger.
Her imagination was not very good, you see.
But now she just slowly sort of...inched along, in more or less the right direction she'd been directed by Stanek, though her eyes were anywhere and everywhere but paying attention to where she was headed. It was therefore very fortunate that she did not quite walk right into the backside of the individual standing in the line ahead of her. Stopping just short of doing so as her view was obstructed by a rudely looming shadow, she blinked to snap out of her daze. Oh. She was here already. Now there was nothing left to do but to...to wait. Wait in line. Patiently.
She was not very good at being patient.
When finally it was her taking the place at the front of the line, she could only stare at the sight of many more of the...the guys... The ones in white armor. Something troops. Bad weather...storm? Stormtroops! Yes, that was definitely what they were. There were a bunch more of them, with more of their...guns? That was what they were. She'd never really used any sort of weapons, and had...kind of just drifted off when they had tried to explain how they worked. Beyond the basic 'it shoots stuff', she didn't really get it. Or want to get it, for that matter.
"Welcome to Coruscant," the lead Stormtrooper said, sounding extremely bored and more than a little tired. The monotony of his task was no doubt starting to wear on him already. He beckoned the little blue creature over, indicating for her to halt when she was close enough. "Stand right there and hold still for scanning."
"....scanning?" she echoed, her tone blank.
The stormtroopers exchanged a look that, even masked by their helmets, was quizzical. They were used to all sorts, but boy oh boy, was a new arrival to the Omniverse always plain as day. "Yeah. Every new arrival to Coruscant is scanned and IDed, and they're filed into the system for easier setup later if they decide to become a more permanent resident."
"Oooooh..." Graowr just tilted her head slightly to one side, her eyes wide at the thought of that. It did sound like it would make it easier. Kind of. "I think I get it. Okay!"
One of the stormtroopers approached, holding something quite different from a rifle. "Hold still, now," he spoke up as he passed it over her body, swinging it around her small frame. "....okay, then. That'll do it." He stepped back, checking over the readings on his, apparent, portable scanner. "Nothing too out of the ordinary, really." he nodded, clipping the device to his belt and stepping back.
"Nothing out of the ordinary?" she spoke up in return, frowning lightly. "Guess I do have a lot of work to do to get back to as strong as I used to be..."
The lead stormtrooper couldn't help but shake his head. Oh, boy. Another one only thinking about fighting and getting stronger. Plenty of those around here, lately. "Well, long as you don't go starting any fights to try and help you in doing that in the streets, there shouldn't be any problems."
"Oh, I don't like fighting in the streets if I don't have to. There's too many people around, usually. And too much property!" She nodded sagely, looking suddenly quite thoughtful. "People could get hurt."
That just caused a cloud of silence to settle collectively over the assembled empire forces for several seconds. "....riiiiight," the lead trooper finally spoke up. Maybe he'd been a little off the mark on this one. "Well, let's get you set up and on your way, then..."
"Oh! I almost forgot!" Graowr suddenly spoke up, and tugged at her glove urgently, producing the card tucked away in it. "The guys who found me at that fountain back in the...the, uh..." She stopped dead in her tracks, words deserting her. "The...the Nexus! Yeah, they said to give you this." And she held it out.
The lead trooper took it slowly, looking a little wary. Just what was up with this kid...? Looking down at the card, though, he couldn't help but chuckle. Now it all made sense. "Oh. Right. This'll be noted." He tucked it into a small container on his belt. "So then. If that merry bunch is the one who picked you up, I assume they've got you all fired up to join the EPD and do your part to help keep Coruscant nice and beautiful, or something like that, then?"
She just nodded. "Yep! They said I could do some good for people, and it would probably help me get stronger, too. It sounds like a great idea!"
Well, she was eager, if nothing else. That wasn't something that could be entirely discounted, especially not with some of the crazy types they'd had coming in lately. That...that Lord Zeta character he'd heard about, just recently completed his entrance mission for the force. Now there was one unpleasant guy, if half of what he'd heard was true. "Well...I think we can help you out with that." He turned to one of the other troopers nearby, beckoning them over. "Take our new friend here to go see Sergeant Sull about a recruitment mission. Tell him we've got a real live one, this time. Good and eager to be a fine, upstanding citizen."
"Yes, sir," the other trooper responded smartly. Turning back to Graowr, he nodded politely. "Follow me, miss. I'll show you to the Sergeant."
