"The Dominion of Max Chos is a fledgling, safe nation, renowned for its compulsory military service, punitive income tax rates, and stringent health and safety legislation. The democratic population of 5 million Max Chosians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
The large, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defense, and Welfare. The average income tax rate is 55.5%, and even higher for the wealthy.
The struggling Max Chosian economy, worth 102 billion deniers a year, is driven entirely by a combination of government and state-owned industry, with private enterprise illegal. The industrial sector, which is fairly diversified, is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Pizza Delivery, Cheese Exports, and Woodchip Exports. Average income is 20,554 deniers, and distributed extremely evenly, with practically no difference between the richest and poorest citizens.
Teenage fathers are forced to join the army, euthanasia is legal, public nudity is compulsory, and same-sex marriages are increasingly common. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a very well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Max Chos's national animal is the swamp cat."
