The door swung open, ringing the welcome bell as Melody walked in. The young adult pause her movie on the small, flat TV that hung in the corner behind the counter. Passing time was hard on an Island like Windfall, but when she was offered a trade for it, she could not refuse.
As Melody browsed the food, Kaylee smiled politely. “You’ll love the fruits, Melody. Picked fresh yesterday. Got most of my orders in yesterday!” She said leaning over the counter. When Melody brought her product to the counter, Kaylee looked through them. Taking a judgement of how much they'd be worth. Nothing in her store had a definite price. Everything was negotiable and friendly to barter. This meant even people with no money could shop as long as they had items to trade.
“The old man is supposed to dock today. Thomas says this'll be a good shipment for me, and I hope so. I'm bringing in decent coin, but not enough for luxury.” Finally she bagged the groceries in a plastic bag and set it on the counter. “15 silvers should cover it.”
