Captain Davy Jones
#1
Location/Role: Davy Jones is the Captain of the Flying Dutchman, the only maritime ‘vessel’ known to never find port.  Diablo saw something in Jones and imbued him with power and might.  It was a small seed that blossomed over the years of claiming souls and torturing victims.  Jones, a vile monster, is the captain of a ship that is more plantlife and coral than wood staffed by a crew that have become maritime creatures as well.

Jones, a surprisingly charismatic individual despite his black heart, is known to take on new members of his crew.  He also holds great influence with Diablo as one of the unofficial ‘lords of Hell.’

Unlike many of the primes in the Underverse, Davy Jones has an illustrious career while he was in the Omniverse.  After his arrival, he quickly found himself in the Vasty Deep, where he was drawn to the opportunities provided by the Imperial Navy headquartered at Costa del Sol.  Originally from a world of privateering on the high seas, Jones adapted quickly to the ‘quirks’ of the Omniverse.

One of the first officers in the Imperial Navy, Captain Jones made a career out of enforcing the Empire’s will upon the citizens of the Vasty Deep.  Despite his efficiency, Jones was also known for his lack of utter empathy and disregard for human life.  When Coruscant was attacked by the forces of Diablo, Jones ordered his crew to disembark and seize control of various landmarks in Costa del Sol.  Those who resisted were cut down by the Dutchman’s crew, and it wasn’t until Imperial forces arrived that Jones had his men stood down.[float=right][Image: Fq5AldGR5lBPrdDzHm-U0UC6mfaJWp0nBPuEHix-...Gkmqk-0h7S][/float]

In Jones’ eye, he had simply acted to ensure that Costa del Sol didn’t fall into panic or find itself undefended in the event of demons pouring through the nearby Gate.  The Empire saw his actions as an attempted coup.  The Flying Dutchman was scuttled and its crew was executed by firing squad.  Unfortunately, a fate worse than death was reserved for Captain Davy Jones.  He was banished to the Underverse.

When Jones ‘arrived’ in the Underverse, he wasted little time in cutting a bloody swathe in his wake.  His fury and ruthlessness drew the attention of Diablo, who personally sought out the captain.  Rather than tear him to pieces, Diablo recognize the blackheart of the man and offered him what he knew Davy Jones could not turn down--power and the pull of the ‘high seas.’

From that moment on, Davy Jones became the undisputed ruler of the Acid Baths--the Underverse’s closest thing to the Seven Seas.  Empowered by Diablo, Davy Jones set out on a new Flying Dutchman with a new crew.  They malicious hunted runaways of various sorts who tried to find solace in the corrosive, filthy ocean.  Overtime, something started to change in Jones and his crew.  Whether it was from Diablo’s initial gift of power or something in the atmosphere of the Acid Baths, Jones and his men started to change. They started to take on physical characteristics of the monstrous animals they lived beneath the bubbling filth, gradually becoming more like sea creatures than sailors.  Even the Dutchman changed as barnacles grew across its surfaces and fel plantlife infused into its hull.  Capable of submering beneath the foul liquid of the Acid Baths for countless periods of time, the ship and its crew are far from human.

It is said that those who join the crew of the Dutchman shall suffer the same fate as the malice within them is made manifest on their physical body.
