Chopping The Day Away

Ash wakes ups from the rooster crowing at 6:00 and smell of breakfast coming out of the kitchen. He gets up slowly after a long night of sleep and feels groggy a bit. "Grr, why do mornings some time have to be a pain to get up." mumbled Ash to himself still yawning and having the case of morning hair. The man gets out of bed and walks over to his shirt hanging on the short left bed post then grabs it. He buttons up the shirt and goes to the mirror of his room then fixes his hair by slicking it back with his saliva. After fixing up for a minute, he walks out of the guest bedroom to go to the kitchen for some breakfast. Ash walks into the kitchen and sees Shirley cooking breakfast with Esmeralda helping too. "Ah, morning Mr. Williams. I was about to get John to wake you up or Gus drag you out of bed." chuckled Shirley seeing him looking a bit drowsy. "I already have coffee made for you guys in the dinning room and breakfast should be finishing up soon." continued Shirley which she was still focusing on cooking breakfast beef patties on the iron stove.

"Cool." responded Ash then makes his way to the dinning room. He walks in and sees John and Gus sitting at the end of the table near the window sipping on some coffee to get them more awake. "Morning Ash! Had a comfortable sleep last night?" said John in a welcoming attitude seeing Ash's appearance. "Yeah, better then sleeping out in those creepy woods." responded Ash sitting next to John. The sun hasn't risen yet making everything outside still pitch black. "Tell me about it." chuckled John at what Ash just said. Gus gotten into a grumpy attitude once Ash showed up making him quite through their conversation. "We gotta lot of chopping to do today since the cold season is just about to show up. With you helping us out, it would make things get easier having a third hand. My son today has to be busy here doing some chores around the barn since well be gone most of the day." said John taking another sip of his coffee. Ash also grabs a mug and pours some from a coffee pot. He begins to drink the coffee which is helping him feel less sleepy.

"More like sawing for me." chuckled Ash after taking a sip of coffee from what John told him which made him and Gus had a weird look on their faces by what does he mean. An awkward silence has fell on the room then Ash responds "Well, you'll see what I mean..." Shirley walks in with the food on a big tray and starts to set it out on the table. The men get relief seeing the delicious home made breakfast getting set up. It came with beef patties, fried eggs, grits, orange juice as a beverage, and some toast. "I need to call Thomas out from the barn that breakfast is ready." said Shirley walking out of the room then goes outside on the front porch ringing the bell.

"Thomas! Breakfast is made!" shouted Shirley to get Thomas's attention. "Ok ma, I'll be there in a minute!" responded Thomas from the barn front doors across the yard. Thomas runs over to the house and jumps on the porch bursting through the door then shutting it ready to eat. He walks in and sees everyone already settled down and waiting for him. They began chowing down on breakfast and started to have a conversation talking about little things. Esmeralda is sat next to her mother looking across the table at Ash with a curious look on her face. She didn't say anything to him last night but is having a shy manner around. Ash sees Esmeralda looking at him and he waves slightly back with his metal hand also having a grin on his face to look friendly. Esmeralda turns away quickly still being shy towards him.

They get finished eating which took them about twenty minutes to do so. The men doesn't waste any time and leave the dinner room to head outside of the cottage. It was a bit chilly outside and the sun is barely coming up over the horizon. Dew was on the ground still fresh and cold from the weather. They walk over to a tool shed next to the house and open the door to grab their gear. Gus starts taking a couple of Axes and John shows were Ash's stuff is at. The evil dead slayer grabs the chainsaw and shotgun that was with the holster off a big shelf hanging over a work bench. He begins strapping on his holster due to him having a prepared nature.

"I've seen a gun before, but never saw a piece of equipment that you have in your other hand." said John examining Ash's chainsaw. "Yeah, this is what I meant earlier by sawing. This baby here is my other replacement for my missing hand and yes I know that may sound weird but it gets the job done. It can cut ten times faster then your everyday handy axe." said Ash with a smirk on his face explaining to John about his chainsaw. They walk out of the shed with their equipment and it didn't take too long to get the wagon ready. Gus grabs a horse from the barn and sets it with the wagon. The men hop on the wagon and John moves the horse ropes to start going. They began to go down the paved road away from the ranch. The road was pretty long for a ranch to have but they eventually make it past through the front gate of the estate and into the dark forest.
