Since they departed for the Rebel base, they had walked the streets of Tier 5 for an hour. None of them are quite sure where they'll be stopping at except for Cassie. The streets are cold, and the roads, unapproachable due to the traffic congesting them.
"Are you sure you know where we're going?" Mick asks.
"You're just lost, aren't you, Cassie?" Leonard adds. He has, since departure, zipped up his parka.
"We'll get there. Trust me." Cassie responds.
"Why couldn't we go by car, or something?" Mick complains.
"Because the roads are so cluttered you can't even WALK on them, let alone travel by vehicle." Cassie fires back.
Then, they hit a dead end.
"...We're lost." Leonard states simply. "I'm out." He then begins to turn around.
"One wrong turn doesn't mean we're lost." Cassie says, running after him. Mick rolls his eyes, sighing, and slowly walks over to the rest of the group.
"How do you know it was just one wrong turn?" Mick asks.
"Can everyone please stop? I will gladly grant a lack of my fist in your face as a response." Cassie says.
"Someone has a temper, don't they?" Snart asks. Cassie just rolls her eyes, coming across the crossroads where the wrong turn was made. It was a 4-way street. She raises her hand up to the earpiece, allowing her to communicate with the Rebellion.
"Hey. It's Cassie. I've forgotten the path to the base." Cassie says.
"Told you we're lost." Snart comments. He gets a particularly unfriendly glance from Cassie, before she focuses on the call again.
"I'm at the crossroads. I know I was supposed to head this far, but nothing past here. I took a left, and made it to a dead end. I'm back at the crossroads now...Uh-huh...Okay...Alright...Yeah, I got it. Bye."
She then hangs up. "Apparently, we were supposed to head to the dead end, then use the streets to get around and go up, since Omni knows we aren't just walking across." Mallis explains.
"I still say you just got us lost." Cold says. This prompts another murderous glance. They then perform a full 180 and start walking back towards the dead end again.
"So...While we have plenty of time to pass, what were your worlds like?" Cassie asks, turning towards the Rogues.
"We come from the same place." Leonard says. "Things were at a middle-point in technology, when compared to what you see here or what you see in Camelot. We robbed a bank here and there, got shot at a few times...At some point, we...'Acquired...' Tech from a company called S.T.A.R Labs. They don't exactly make double A batteries."
"I can assume that." Cassie responds.
"So, Mick got a handheld flamethrower, and I got...The Cold Gun." Snart says.
"Essentially, he got a glorified freeze ray." Heat Wave comments.
"I'll have you know, it turns down temperatures to absolute zero." Cold responds to Mick. "...Or, used to, anyway. Now, I guess he's sort of right."
"How'd you figure that out, anyway?" Mick asks.
"I've taken the Cold Gun apart and put it back together...Quite a bit." Snart says. "Needed to make sure I could put it back together again if a certain psychic went after me."
"You met that telekinetic guy?" Rory asks.
"It's mostly just been the occasional rumor down on tier 6 or 7, most people don't believe he even exists...But when you're living somewhere like the Omniverse, it's better safe than sorry."
"I met that guy on my first day. It was a rough fight, but I killed him."
"I find that hard to believe." Snart says, turning away from his companion and beginning to walk. Mick then notices that they reached the dead end. Or, more accurately, the wall reminds him. Cassie giggles a little, then grabs him and pulls him away from the wall, continuing on.
"So, enough talk about us...What's your world like?" Leonard asks.
"...Believe it or not, it was much like where we are now. Right down to the name." Cassie states. "Coruscant...The city-planet of Coruscant, the heart of the Empire...That's where I grew up. At first, I was happy there...Really, I was...Then, I finally took a good look beyond the scenery. It's a military state. They have so many cameras. Stormtroopers all around, cluttering the streets. The place isn't as great as everyone makes it out to be."
"Then what?" Mick asks.
"After a while...I found the Rebellion. Essentially, where I am now. I got pulled into the Omniverse, where I went about searching and found it again. Since I discovered it, I devoted my life to training...And fighting. To end the tyranny he...Palpatine...Has spread upon Coruscant."
Then, they arrive, at...A hotel.
"This doesn't look very...Rebel-base-y." Mick says.
"On the surface? It isn't." Cassie says. Opening the door, she turns towards the one running the hotel. The man seems to be in his late 30's. Kinda chubby, with black, short hair that's turning grey at the temples. Similarly black beard. Wearing a red T-shirt and black jeans.
"Calling crows." Cassie states. The runner nods, it apparently being some sort of password. He then motions for the group to come behind the counter, which they do. He quietly reaches under his desk, and reveals...Two empty pegs. He then opens a drawer, grabbing a handle, and inserts it into it.
"A...Handle in the floor?" Snart asks.
"Hidden trapdoor." the owner explains, apparently being hispanic, if the accent is any indication. Cassie takes a quick look around. Thankfully, no cameras that she could see.
"Go, now...The Rebellion awaits."
"Are you sure you know where we're going?" Mick asks.
