The shattered stone pieces smashed into sand splashing it around like water, falling with all their weight as the gate itself would fall flat onto the floor, like a door without hinges. Kalli was well away from the destruction when she activated the explosives, having planted C4 all around the gate door itself. After the smoke cleared and the gate door had fallen, Kalli made her way back to Whittorn's truck with utmost haste, claws sliding through the sand as she grabbed the pickup door, coming to a halt and swinging it open. She scrambled on in, slamming the door behind her and quickly checking for a life sign from Whitthorn; he wheezed even quieter than before, weakly taking hold of her hand while trembling intensely. Kalli whispered "It'll be alright." trying to be soothing as possible while applying pressure to his stomach, the single wound kept bleeding a slow but consistent stream of warm blood. The rest of his body had held up, dried blood covering his wounds or stuck to his scales in vertical lines thanks to gravity.
Trying to sound reassuring, she continued to speak "Jeff should be here soon and we'll all-"
"Kalli." Whitthorn open his eyes slowly, weakly moving his head with a cough. She felt the suspense and adrenaline rising through her veins, worried and in anticipation for what was to be said. The prime would've interrupted him as soon as he opened his mouth, or lied through her beak with saying she brought medical supplies, but the response he gave wasn't a depressing death note. Actually, he nearly laughed while saying it. "I can't drive."
"What?" She asked, baffled. Whitthorn reached out with a trembling fist, the prime watched while keys rattled in his palm. "I can't drive." he repeated, more serious this time. It took a second for Kalli to understand what he meant, the blood loss made him nothing more than a half-paralyzed puppet. She took the keys, plugging them back into the ignition. "Alright, I'll move you to the passenger seat." she said, opening the door passenger door she slid out and ran around the front of the vehicle, opening the driver's door and pulling Whitthorn out. Carrying the half-conscious lizard, the prime would placing him in a sitting position in one of the back seats, she too was about to climb in before Whitthorn motioned her to the door, saying "I'll be alright." while clenching the wound painlessly. Once more she reluctantly closed the door on him.
Then came footsteps, numerous and crazed. Her talon slowly slipped off the door handle, looking out between the rows of vehicles. The prime then dashed to clamber onto the pickup's flatbed, looking over the rows in search of what was incoming.
At first it was just a small band of prisoners, the prime raising her rifle at the prisoners believing them to be bandits for a millisecond, but they didn't bother to look up, not even acknowledging her existence. Lowering the rifle, she merely observed them as the prisoners dispersed, leaping into any vehicle other than Whitthorn's in the front row. As soon as it seemed the last of the prisoners came and the stream of prisoners had stopped, a mob of people appeared, never ending and opening doors, taking up seats or crawling onto roofs of the vehicles they were hijacking. Jeff and Aoki came to a halt just beyond the flatbed of the pickup, hauling themselves onto it- Aoki having to be helped up by Jeff.
"Are we ready to leave?" Jeff asked impatiently, engines revving up around them as gunfire grew just as loud, bandits coming ever closer to their position.
However, he didn't get an answer "Did you find the Eldest?" Kalli asked
"No, we haven't seen her at all actually. Hows Whitthorn by the way?"
The rows of vehicles awakened with their engines, the few convoy guards there were took their places as drivers, doors slamming shut and people eagerly leaping onto the mangled cars that'd bring them their freedom. Kalli pushed Jeff aside, once more not answering his question and looking out into the town before leaping off the flatbed "A lot of people are unaccounted for, we can't just wait for you to find her!" Jeff yelled out
"Then don't!" Kalli replied.
Aoki leaped off the flatbed as well once the prime was out of sight, holding onto the pistol. "Forgot to give this back." he said to Jeff before chasing after the prime.
"Shit." Jeff muttered to himself.
The bandits leaped downward in a craze, falling from the monstrous cars while Malgore merely watched them rain onto the prime, punching and hitting her with fists and blunt weapons, it wasn't long before she had completely disappeared behind all the bandits in the beating. With a satisfied grunt, Malgore walked behind walked away and disappeared out of sight. The Eldest was pushed from the bandits, let to watch as their savage, callous nature was exposed quite well. It wasn't long before the prime was fighting back, appearing again as she clawed at them, attempting to escape. The bandits would respond by holding her down, the one with the biggest weapon would follow up with hitting as hard as they could.
Just before a bandit could strike Kalli unconscious, numerous gunshots boomed near them, almost all the bandits dying by the sudden gunfire. The final two that were alive would trip over the corpses of their comrades, running off and disappearing, likely to report to Malgore. Aoki meanwhile lowered the pistol, eyes wide and hands shaking as if afraid by what was emitted by the pistol. The Eldest nodded to him before limping over to the prime, grabbing them by the arm and pulling her to her feet.
Kalli tried to stand, nearly stumbling as the familiar pain burned through her body, said pain fading away slowly. "Thanks for the help." she said, looking at Aoki. Once the prime was stable, she then asked the tribal leader "Why isn't Malgore fighting?"
"As I said, I'll explain once we're all out of here." The Eldest replied
Soon they were on the move again, The Eldest limping out toward the front row while Kalli stood straight, listening to the sound of the first vehicles riding off for the exit. Aoki tapped the prime's arm, pistol handle pointing toward her. "Here." he said
"You should keep it." Kalli pushed the pistol back toward him "Today isn't over yet."

The further away she got from the vehicles, the quieter it became, the last of the prisoners rushing past her as they were undoubtedly retreating from the remaining cannibals, bodies covered in fresh wounds or the blood of others. Kalli walked on, focused with her weapon raised while moving between the vehicles, ever watchful for movement and pointing her rifle at the slightest noise. She wasn't sure where to go, continuing because of a reason in her gut or the hundreds of thoughts in her head, one that the prime would agree on was that The Eldest was one of the more intelligent secondaries she had come across on her travels, like Whitthorn. To leave her behind with savages and a crumbling cavern wasn't a fate that Kalli would sleep well with thinking about.
After some time the prime found herself between two rather long cars, their hoods high above her, wheels larger than her own body. Kalli felt like a rat walking between these, glancing upward just to get a look at how high they went, it seemed as if they reached all the way up to the cavern's ceiling. The floodlights above the cavern town would cast the shadow of the monstrous cars, leaving her in their shadow as she came upon the next empty space between rows. The silence grew more prominent, as if the gunfire had completely disappeared. Placing her back against the rear wheel of the vehicle, she approached the empty space, leaning out to stare around the corner...
A hand suddenly grabbed her shoulder from behind.
Kalli whirled about, the hand slipping off her as she pointed her gun, breathing heavily with a hint of fear in her eyes. Once more she was left to lower her rifle without firing, rather regretfully having raised it in the first place.
The Eldest, hunched like when they first met, but much cleaner as well "We must leave, now." she stated with worry, turning about and quickly limping toward the front row.
Kalli followed her with many questions swirling in her head, "Wh- where were you? How come you weren't with the rest?"
"Malgore has plans, ones that'll be irrelevant once," she hesitated "once we escape from here."
"Not quite."
Both the prime and the tribal leader came to a halt, Kalli turned around first, a her eyes meeting Malgore's with all the anger she could muster. The Eldest meanwhile continued to worry, though was sure not to show her fear. With the howling night wind behind them, Kalli stepped toward Malgore, the two locked in their stare. He looked as if entertained by this 'contest' they were committed to, a smirk on his face. They looked at each other for what seemed to be ages, waiting for a twitch in movement. It never came, but the cars besides them did start rocking back and forth.
