A Exploration Of The New and Uncivilized
#16
The room was stuffy, dust particles floating all around the rooms which faded in and out of sight as the light bulbs flickered every few minutes. The floorboards creaked and groaned under the weight of Kalli's body, making her feel all the more uncomfortable about being here. It was also hard to breathe, aside from all the dust and clutter no fresh air was able to get through the walls, the place having almost all space taken up by it's tables displaying equipment, closets with weapon racks and the weapons themselves! She guessed that only one person could fit between all the clutter ahead of her, a 'hallway' of displayed assault rifles and machine guns. To her left and some feet away from the entrance was a doorway, through it was another room with much more space, lacking any weapons or clutter while there was a staircase built into the wall across from the doorway itself.

Once the entrance whined, closing behind her the prime would proceed to investigate the armory, at first she was hasty; trying to be thorough as time was against her. But the search was coming up bad so far, the racks filled with weapons that she was nowhere near familiar with. As time went on, the prime began to curse to herself, opening the weapon closets before slamming them shut again, the search still coming up as a failure. Soon the prime was sweating, haphazardly tossing weapons aside as she dug through the stockpile, desperate to find anything that was taken from her during the battle. In a matter of a few minutes the entire room was tossed into disarray, the ammunition boxes tossed into the walls with their contents spilling out once their tops collided with the floor, weapons were thrown away landing onto tables or other piles, clattering against one another as Kalli continued her search. Even boxes of grenades were thrown to the side, joining the rest of the dismissed equipment with little care.

Once the last of the weapon closets had been searched through the prime would tense up, groaning in exasperation before leaving this location of the armory. However, there was no easing in this place, the screams of those burning once more could be heard echoing through the cavern, the noise crept in through the cracks on the walls, prompting Kalli to remain focused and speed toward the staircase steps. Grabbing the stair's railing to prevent herself from slamming into the wall, her arms pulled herself onto the first step, the rest of the way she would use her legs to skip about two steps at most, nearly leaping up the staircase before opening the door at the top, moving into the second floor and once more shutting the door behind her. The wood still creaked, the air was still dry and the light bulbs dangling on their wires still flickered, but it wasn't a cluttered mess like the first floor.

At first she had merely entered a hallway, empty, with a single light to pierce the darkness. To the left was nothing, mere metal walls unlike the wooden ones on the lower level, but to her right was another doorway. Seeing it as the only way to further her search, Kalli walked with a steady pace toward the door, the closer she got to it the larger the room on the other side seemed to get. Once standing in the doorway, the entirety of the armory's true weapons were revealed; intact C4, rocket launchers, sci-fi blasters and salvaged together armor. There was also the usual display of pistols and rifles, but even they were different than the norm with their spotlessness and lack of personal decorations. Kalli walked on in, observing it all in quick glances before turning to look at the center of the room. There was a long pause once her eyes came upon the cross.

Finely crafted with string tied around the center, the cross was some of the purest and freshest wood that the Malicious Sons had their hands on, the cross kept in place by a perfectly cut hole in the floor looking as if it had merged with the floor itself. The cross was right below the brightest light in the room, a single one that never flickered nor faded, keeping the cross and everything around perfectly exposed to the smallest of details. That alone would've made Kalli see this place as incredibly eerie, but the fact her own combat vest was put onto the cross as if it was a person wearing it made her fraught. She immediately unequipped the combat vest from the cross, searching it for any sign of hampering on the combat vest. It was just as she wore it in battle, a tad bit rugged but still had her name tag and ammo pouches.

As she put on her armor the prime noticed words etched in on the cross's arms, squinting while putting on the vest, the prime's eyes looked from one arm of the cross to another. " For Malgore only," She read, pausing once more before speaking again, scoffing at the etched in words "yeah right, going to have to take it off my corpse first."

There were tables at both sides of the cross, having the prime's weapons- and presumably other weapons stolen from pimes, seeing how some of them were beyond that of anything logical to her -on display next to the armor. She took her own weapons, ignoring the rest, ammunition was put back in the vest pouches before she sheathed the combat knife, putting the container of deploy-able shields on her belt and equipping the autogun. Like the armor, they had not changed at all since the last battle. Before deciding to leave the prime made a last second trip through the second floor, stealing all the handheld explosives she could.

Once done, the prime went back to the door, opening it and started to walk down the staircase with newfound hope.
Only to hear the entrance of the armory open as well, making a loud whine as the floorboard began to creak after it, five armed bandits moving in with clear knowledge that someone was in here who shouldn't be.

"Get up."

Slapping the back of Aoki's head, the tall man repeated himself, "Get up." he said with a much louder voice. Aoki got to his feet, legs shaking as the flames whipped back and forth below the cooked corpses ahead of him. They were taken off the fire, untied from the burnt pole and then given to the mob, which tore into the body like animals, causing flesh and bone to fly everywhere as they surrounded it. His breathing quickened, the chain which attached him to the rest of the prisoners was unlocked, a loud 'thump' as the chain fell into the sand. He still had his linked cuffs on him however, which the giant man grabbed, just about to drag the young man away from the rest.

However, the giant man let go almost right after, Aoki's hands falling back down as the distant struggling grew ever louder. Prisoners yelled in support as Jeff had leaped onto the back of the second large man, strangling him with the cuff's chains while having feet planted on his back, riding the giant cannibal like a bull. The giant spun around, attempting to elbow him off while the chain tightened around his throat, looking like he was doing a drunken dance around the fire while less oxygen was filling his lungs. It seemed he was about to stumble to the floor, tripping over his on feet and kicking up sand, but his death was not to come so soon. Jeff was quickly grabbed by the other man, tossed into the sand violently.

Aoki wasn't the only one watching this however, inspired by Jeff's sudden attempt the prisoners began to get up in unison and strike out against the cannibal mob, a full blown street war of chained prisoners and unprepared bandits in a melee of crowds, pushing, tackling and strangling each other. The cavern soon became a giant brawling ground, with few guns ever being fired at the start.
