Baby Steps

[Guu]

Guu awoke to a strange feeling in her chest, her breathing erratic. She launched herself to her feet gripping her chest. The feeling slowly dissipated with every breath.

Then it slowly donned. The feeling she felt, she remembers it from when she read the minds of the humans back home. The feeling of pain. But why was she feeling it in her lungs…

Since when did she have lungs...

"I need to breath?" She said sounding bored and surprised at the same time.

She plunged her hand into her mouth and felt around. Sure enough, she had working lungs. But that's not all. She also felt the distinct rhythm of a heart beat. She quivers at the thought of having to live with that incessant drumming all the time.

But the shocking part is her stomach. It felt empty and much smaller than it was before, she had never had her stomach feel like this. It was very uncomfortable.

It was at this point that she noticed that she was sitting around in an empty dark void. She knew from experience that this wasn't good news.

She thought short and mild about how she got in this situation, but when the answers wouldn't pop into her head immediately, she started to panic.

So instead, she thought long and hard. She remembered saying good bye to Hare, sending him back home, erasing everybody's memory of her existence, and now she's depressed again.

Just as she was going to wind up in a spiral of self-deprecation, a human figure in bright white light appeared before Guu.

"My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it."

"In that case, can you stop my heartbeat? It's giving me a headache." she blurted out.

The figure hands her a glimmering orb.

"This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be..."

Guu is having a difficult time processing all of this while sorting her feelings out. Is she human now? What does this mean for her powers? Can she go back?

Oh yeah, left them forever and they don't remember her. She's depressed again.

...not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn. That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

And just like that, the man and the world of darkness faded into endless whiteness. The only thing she can see is a fountain up ahead. She just kind of stood there, not used to thinking and moving at the same time.

Until she noticed that she was surrounded by humanoids. She was so used to being able to sense them… Not wanting to deal with random strangers, she darted passed them and found a secluded area where she can check herself out.

She felt around her stomach again. It didn't feel like a human stomach, or at least what she guessed a human stomach would feel like. While it was empty, she could still feel grass under the tip of her fingerless arm. At least that power still exists.

She went through each of her powers. reality warping: Nope. Teleportation: Nada. Time Travel: nothing. She even tried to brain wash a few people, no result. The only thing else that seemed intact was her ability shape her body any way she wanted, but after the weight of everything going on, she couldn't bring herself to celebrate this minor victory. She rests her body down on the clean white ground, and focuses all her energy on thinking how screwed she is.
