The air was humid, so close to the center of the city and the Palace. Though the sun had set and Nippur resided in the middle of the dessert in the Endless Dunes, the humidity created from the dense trees within the Palace's walls reached out a few blocks. It made this particular alley quite muggy. Sweat dripped from the forehead of Heaven's Last Angel, while he hid from his two armored pursuers. He though of making a break for the end of the pathway, but that would be foolish. It was a straight shot and there would be no way to not alert the golden clad guards.
Eon sat between two wooden crates with his knees pressed to his chest, and his revolver resting against his temple. He felt so cowardice, part of him wanted to jump up and open fire on the two brutes and lay them low. The gunslinger knew it would not be as easy as that. These two were a part of elite bodyguards. They were way more intense than Zigfree and Gulten, his first real challenges of upon arriving in the Endless Dunes. The two cannibals he'd taken down his first day in the Omniverse were a little on the all Brawn and no Brain, and that wasn't to say they weren't extremely strong. Eon had gotten injured severely in order to stay alive against the cannibal vagabonds. These golden armor bearers... they were a step above. He wouldn't be caught off guard though, like the first encounter, at least he could think this through. The Plant just needed to keep calm and wait for his friend, Kopaka, to hear or see his signal. He had fired off those six shots nearly ten minutes ago.
He should be here any moment... two on two is much better. Hell, Kopaka could probably take the both of them on. Just have to let him know that they know where the Mouse he's looking for is. Just keep calm.
A loud metallic stomp broke Eon's train of thought, and a moment of rejoice filled his body. His mechanical friend had arrived.... or so he thought... instead a golden halberd demolished the crates surrounding him, leaving a gash in the ground... a cringe of shock on Eon's face... and a smile on both the Golden Guards.
