[2-5] Exodus from the Nose Crash
#23
Face to Face
Chara, Cyborg, Christa, Red, and Karl Jak vs Golem

Slowly, the four came back to their senses as the dust from their combined attacks started to settle.  Christa put a hand to the side of her head and waited for the ringing to stop and the world to come back into focus.  When she could hear properly once more, the first thing that graced her ears was the slow clapping of someone standing a few feet from her position.  She turned and immediately felt fresh adrenaline start to worm its way through her veins as Karl Jak continued to applaud her.

“Well done,” the executive remarked.  “Marvelous teamwork.”

“Fuck you,” Christa growled, eliciting a faint snicker from the producer.

“Not on my worst day, sweetheart,” Karl laughed as a wave crashed over the beach; drowning his lower legs and knocking Christa back down into the sand.  When the woman recovered once more, she noticed that her fellow survivor was pointing to something nearby.  “Work ain’t done yet.”

Although it was missing its left arm and entire portions of its once impressive physique, the golem willed itself forward.  The sundered hulk still managed to cast a long shadow over Red and Chara.  Winded and concussed, the two were trying to evaluate their options when Cyborg leapt onto the golem’s back and started to punch at its splintered skull with his robotic fist.

The monster reached up and closed a fist around the cybernetic warrior’s hand, and with zero remorse, it wrenched Cyborg off its back and slammed him into the ground.  A moment later, it stepped on the center of the warrior’s back, and with one horrifying motion, it tore the arm from his socket.

Fresh screams filled the beach as Red and Chara rushed to the aid of the machine.  Chara was felled when the golem bashed her in the side of the skull with its new club.  Before it could turn the severed arm against the cat, Christa had crashed into it, throwing it off balance.  The sniper managed to distract the beast, but it shrugged her off before trying to turn its focus to Red.

Christa scrambled back to her feet and turned when she saw something purple in her periphery.

“Hop to it,” Karl replied as he tossed the knife at the woman.  She caught it, and while other thoughts crept into her mind, the sound of Cyborg’s groans pulled her back toward the real fight.  With a grunt, Christa jumped at the golem once more, and this time, she led her attack by driving the small blade into an exposed portion of the monster’s neck.  The blade sank down into the rocky interior of the creature before snapping apart, and much to everyone’s joy, a gurgled noise escaped the golem’s maw as the red fires that burned within it faded and died.

With a final, jerking motion, the golem threw itself back at Christa, and while it didn’t have the strength to hurt her, she wasn’t fast enough to escape from underneath its bulk.  The two crashed to the ground with a wet thud, and Christa lost consciousness after the impact jostled her insides and drove the air from her lungs.
Cyborg has lost an arm and suffered 10 points of damage.  He will bleed out and die at the end of the round.
Chara, whose skull is now fractured, is also concussed and will have (even more) difficulty discerning what is reality and what is not (10 points of damage)
Red suffered numerous scrapes and will limp for a while (4 points of damage)
Christa’s right wrist is fractured (6 points of damage)

You all must vacate the beach or risk being swallowed by the ocean.
You will gain a prize that will be revealed mid-round.
