The armored body fell face first to the ground, or what was left of its face that is. A mixture of metal, glass and what seemed to be blood scattered across the walls of the alleyway. The gunslinger was still unsure just what part of the golden guard may have been human, or if it was just another bio-mechanical creature like Kopaka. The thought of his would be ally made his brow lower, this fight would have been said and down with by now. The bionicle was a close ranged swordsman, he could have easily combated the two guards, while he himself being a ranged gunman could have laid down cover fire. He had only ventured out so that he could find the prime the Toa of Ice was hunting. In finding the target, Eon himself became the hunted.
I cannot rely on anyone but myself in the place. As if I needed the assistance of such a creature any way... I am a God.
The thought lingered in his head, and even Eon couldn't understand why he had said that to himself. He had only meant to use the role of Gilgamesh in order to survive. It was a strange coincidence that he looked like the fallen King, but anything in the Omniverse seemed possible. Maybe it was even on purpose, this was a big toy box and Omni did enjoy watchign his playthings combat and interact. Eon knew that none of that really explained why it was becoming harder and harder to turn off the ruse he had started.
While the gunslinger tried to piece together his thoughts, the heavy footsteps of the other guard made their way toward Eon. The Golden Guard had just finished cutting down they commoner when he heard the sound of gunfire. A wave of anger had rushed through his gears as he navigated the maze that was outside the palace walls. How had he let the imposter get behind him? He had thought the target would have continued to make his way towards one of the gates of the city to escape. Instead, the imposter circled back using the commoner as a distraction. He meant to take out his fellow Golden Guard that he had injured with the rocket. It was the second time he allowed himself to underestimate the would be King. Gripping his blade tighter he turned the corner and saw the false king, standing over the motionless body of his comrade.
"I will end this here and now. You have been merely lucky thus far..." The guard began making his way towards Eon.
The gunslinger pressed down on the lever of his revolver, separating the chamber and allowing the empty shells to fall out. He began reloading each bullet individually. "Do you have any idea... the Hell I've been through?" The guard continued his advancement, raising his blade to the side. Still loading, "You dare call it Luck. When you know damn well that you underestimated your King. Let me ask you something before you are punished for your treason..." The last bullet loaded into the chamber and Eon folded it shut, taking aim he pointed the gun at the Golden Guard. "Where does your loyalty lie?"
The Guard was within striking distance, for whatever reason the golden haired imposter did not waver. He had him right where he wanted him, so why did the question resonate in his mind? He hesitated for another moment, causing his arm to twitch before swinging his sword in a vertical ark, "My loyalty is for that of the King of Nippur!" he exclaimed while striking.
Eon's eyes followed the guards movements, the slight moment of hesitation gave him the initiative, allowing him to raise his left arm to catch the guard's right forearm mid swing. Eon's muscles surged with exhaustion, the guard was as strong as the Plant and much heavier. As the attention of the guard was drawn to the shocking catch, the gunslinger pulled the trigger of his revolver. In that moment the guard swung his left arm outwards striking Eon in the side and knocking him into the wall. The gun went off, sending the shot into the guards jaw. The glass mask cracked outward from the hole the bullet has made. The gunslinger gripped his side for a moment, his ribs were still injured from the guards very first kick he had place to them. Pulling himself up, back against the cracked wall, he let his words work some more. "Yet your fealty seems to be with Jafar... the very man who swore loyalty to me and yet consorts with the very Prime that Banished me!!" Moving quickly to the right he fired three more shots, as the guard brought his sword and arm up in a defensive position deflecting two, the third piercing his shoulder.
Eon continued to tongue lash the biomech, "Do you know what it is like to be pulled into Hell?" As he said it, memories of Knives engulfing Eon in the black hole filled his mind. "You walk through the Omniverse with so much power that even the God Omni recognizes your greatness... then a low life 'Hero' has you drug to the bottom of Hell!" The guard swung his blade, striking the wall and dragging it across, rubble spraying and hitting the gunslinger. Small cuts and abrasions being left behind, Eon rolled backwards and pulled his cross from his back and shouldered it. "I crawled out of the pits of the Underverse, stripped of my power. But not my pride, and I will obtain my rightful place atop my throne. No meager creation or Prime will stop me."
The guard, realizing the imposters next move, reached down to grab the lifeless body of his fellow guard and lifted it up before him. Eon fired his second rocket, making contact with the guards makeshift shield. The body blew apart, the guard taking some damage to his own arm as well. He knew if he wanted to end this he needed to get close. He rushed in, raising his blade high for his final strike.
"I may have chosen a new blade..." Eon brought the Punisher Cross around, planting it in the path of the oncoming blade. His brethren cried out as energy pulsated from the barrel of the revolver. Revealing a small black module, the gun and Eon's arm seemed to start to meld together as one. "But my Divinity, my Power and my Faith still remain!" The guard's weapons tore through an overhang, causing debris to fall. The Cross shown with a bright light as the sword made contact. The dust form a cloud and the two starred at one another.
As the debris cleared, the sword was resting on the cross. Eon smiled, "Feel my Power..." his arm was no in the form a twisted cannon with a glowing orb within the center, with the tip resting in the chest of the Golden Guard. Releasing the trigger was like clenching his fist, as a beam of concentrated energy fired out. The ten foot wide beam tore through the alleyway! Traveled into the street and connected with the Palace Wall! Leaving a gaping hole in its wake.
