Separated from the others, the hungover prime and the man responsible for his condition wandered deeper into the forest. They'd moved silently for the last half an hour, but with the landscape around them unchanged, both were starting to feel a little concerned.
"Wonder where we are?" Barry muttered as he tried to see through the fog.
"We're not lost," Hiro shot back as they manhandled their way through a series of rough bushes. When they emerged on the other side, both men found themselves greeted by just a little bit more sunshine.
Unfortunately, they also found themselves staring at what seemed to be a small tribal village nestled into the jungle. About six encampments comprised the settlement before them. All the building were made from wood and had thatched roofs and walls. The backwater architecture wasn't what concerned the pair of men. Instead, they found themselves drawn to the variety of village decor made from butchered animals.
Sensing Barry's anxiety, Hiro cracked a smile. "It's all good... it's not like they're..."
Before the hacker could finish his remark, both men heard screams as a group of mostly naked people dragged someone in Syntech clothes out from the trees at the other end of the village. The man, dressed like a waiter, continued to wail at the top of his lungs even as the collection of men and women started to tear of pieces of his flesh and eat him alive.
"Fuck me." Hiro mumbled as the two watched the tribe of cannibals feast on the Syntech employee.
"Poor Ralph," Barry whispered. "Never knew anyone who could carry so many platters all at once..."
