There was a heavy sigh.
The sun's rays pierced through the darkness, steadily expanding outward the closer they got to the ground, revealing more dust as it went across the shack. Each spec of dust or dirt fading in and out of view as they would be dragged downwards, only to be blown up again by dry gusts of wind. The metallic interior was dry, humid, just like the savanna that the town was surrounded by- minus the predatory animals. A rusty bed, just as rusty as this shack, was pressed against the corner of the room, the clean mattress seeming as if it came right out of a store selling them freshly made. A blanket revealing the figure of a person, animal-like legs, but absolutely humanoid with their upper body. She sighed again, rolling again and again with the same frustration she had from yesterday.
Each and every particle that blew closer to the bed made it harder to breath, the struggle to get oxygen from the dry, insensible air forced Kalli to breath even heavier than normal just to get her lungs their proper fill. That didn't work well either, it felt like she was breathing in more dirt than air, coughing while her eyes struggled to remain closed. Seeing her desperate attempt to get more sleep as a futile cause, her eyelids slowly opened, squinted, a hole in the ceiling had the sun shining down right on her face.
Taking grip of the side of the bed with one claw while removing the blanket with another, she sat up. The numbness in her calves were gone, replaced with a burning pain she was familiar with since her trip here. Breathing in deeply, she got up with a stumble, placing one hand on the wall next to her in concern for falling. Slowly withdrawing that hand while looking down, she moved one foot, than the next, delicately placing each on the floor as her head was lifted upward. Walking over to the table she had created last night, the prime observed what was before her. The old armor and clothing had been dissolved yesterday, just after she had constructed the wooden table. A new uniform laid before her with a pleasantly fresh smell.
A combat vest, this time extending only down to her torso with a much thinner plating, while a tight black jumpsuit was worn underneath it. Fingerless gloves at the end of each sleeve, while her new trousers were baggy, hiding her legs just as they hid the lower part of the jumpsuit up until the ankles. Her belt was still there as well, with all the items and ammunition that came attached to it, as so did the pouches on her vest. Her weapons were laid out just next to these, each lined up like as if they were on display at a museum, clips of ammunition next to them, the bullets at the top shimmering from the light that crept it's way onto the table. A talon glided over all that was here before her. Kalli gave a confident nod, this would be much more easier to use.
Fitting on the jumpsuit, her arms and legs slipped easily into it, the suit itself stopping at the neck, talons and hands. It felt constricting at first, especially on her feet which- while protected -felt like they couldn't move without making it even more tighter. But eventually she tugged at the suit, getting the folds in the proper places so she could properly bend her arms and digtigrade legs. The combat vest, trousers, gloves, they went on too with much more ease. At the sound of a 'click' from her belt, signifying she was done, the prime would begin slipping each magazine of ammunition into place, each pouch having one to fill it's space. Slinging the rifle onto her back, holstering the pistol on her right thigh and sheathing the knife, she began to take a few steps back and forth in order to get comfortable with the new uniform.
"Much better." She thought, the prime then began to take their steps toward the door with confidence in the new apparel, her hand tugging at the handle, opening the door to reveal...
Behind him was the convoy, four pick ups, a SUV, two motorcycles and a truck with a flat bed, large boxes being strapped down to it. All of the vehicles were modified in some way, may it be extra metallic plates (much like the shack's rusting walls), machine guns strapped to the rear of the pick ups, or supplies being strapped to the doors like water canisters and bags filled with whatever was necessary. Only the motorcycles were passable as normal. Kalli looked at it all, staring as the personnel apart of this 'organization' double checking their supplies and cleaning their guns. Everyone had a gun it seemed, holstered pistols or a rare machine gun. Kalli observed for another few seconds, the wind whistling past the shack with fresh air- no more of that humid, dry, insensible air the shack had -began to blow across the prime's face.
"Let me get rid of this place first," she took grip of the edge of the doorway, tapping the shack's wall with her talons "then we'll talk."
With a nod, the lizard turned about and walked back to the convoy. Once in ear shot to talk to someone he would proceed to yell and have his hands in the air like a irritated boss, constantly telling everyone to hurry up. Kalli took her steps out of the shack and instantly turned around, the sand and dirt rolling under her feet. Observing the shack for a few seconds as the commotion went on behind her, Kalli then stuck out her hands and collected the omnilium from the dissolving shelter.

A actual non-human other than herself?
"You know black will build up heat right? Also that jumpsuit is incredibly constricting."
The alien was a fair 5'8ft, which seemed to be rather average for many, while Kalli towered over him at 6'5ft. He was wearing a white button-up shirt that looked right out of a business meeting, while a desert jacket was worn right open that, left open to see down the middle. Grey trousers went down his leg, kept tightly to his person by a brown belt. From there, the scales on his ankles were exposed until the feet, where he wore shoes with pointed tips. A tail waved behind his back, as long as his legs as it were. Two hands tucked away into his trouser's pockets, while he looked upward with curiosity. A cigar was in his mouth as well, recently lit from what Kalli could tell. If he didn't have a snout, scales and a tail, the man could easily pass for a human.
"What do you want?" She asked, annoyed.
The lizard man took his right hand out of his pocket, taking out the cigar and pointed at her with the same hand. "A proposition." a smile followed. "You're a prime-"
"And?" Kalli interrupted, expecting a insult to be thrown into the mix, remembering yesterday's encounter with the accountant.
He sighed, closing his eyes and rubbing his forehead in irritation. "Allow me to begin again." The lizard then looked up once more. "I'm a man in charge of a organization who gets paid to transport and protect. I'm looking for a new hand on my latest contract. If you help me in being that 'extra hand', I give you the location of a omnilium deposit. Questions?" The cigar was then placed in his mouth again, hand tucked into the pocket. Little did Kalli know the last part about a deposit was a lie- such things were exceptionally rare. Basically non-existent in the Endless Dunes as far as the lizard knew. But that was to be dealt with later.
