As Tsunade finished his ultimatum, a small portion of Eric's conscious, deep within, urged him to take the Omnilium, to take it and leave Jams for dead. Ignoring the voice, Eric shoved it down, furious at himself that he had even thought about the decision. There is only one conclusion that he would ever accept.
All this raced through Eric's mind in the span of a second. Determined, Eric stepped forward, and gestured to the gray slab. "I choose the slab, unless-" the mage turned to face Jams, an amused expression appearing, "my companion disagrees?"
"Nope." Jams squeaked, relieved. "I have no objections." Tsunade signaled to the guard in possession of the slab. As silent as a shadow, and bearing the same appearance, the ninja moved to the pot below Eric's companion, and slid the stone into place. With blinding speed, the guard to Jams' right severed the taut rope, and he fell unto the slab. "Ow! Geeze, couldn't you have just lowered me down or something?" Still encased in rope, Jams rolled off the pot, landing with a muffled thud. "I knew we should have brought the duct tape," the guard muttered to his fellow ninja.
The bearer of the orb of Omnilium came up behind Tsunade. "Where should I put the rock, sir?" Alarmed, Eric took a closer look at the so-called Omnilium. What had at first appeared to be a large sum of Omnilium, upon closer inspection, becomes a polished, multicolored rock, fashioned into a spherical shape. Hmm. Even if someone chose what I did not, they would not receive actual Omnilium. The ninjas probably would kill them as well...
Satisfied that his friend was out of harm's way for the moment, Eric returned his gaze to the leader of the ninjas. "What is the next challenge?" Tsunade beckoned, and headed for the exit. "Come, we have prepared the second trial." With the duo in tow, the ninjas escorted them toward the door, keeping a close eye on them.
