Weiss vs Sans (The Battle of the Underground)
#7
The skeleton planted his hand on his torso, sighing as his fingers touched his relatively intact ribs. What wasn’t was his turtleneck, which was sliced from shoulder to hip. Just looking at the cut made his metaphorical stomach churn.

If she had been a little faster…

No. He couldn’t think about it. He had to keep going, keep fighting, for everything the crazy woman hadn’t taken away from him.

The hallway, once golden, extravagant, and filled with beauty, was now nothing but a shell of its former glory. Pillars were strewn everywhere, most in small pieces, and the few left standing were cracked and filled with holes. The ground was peppered with craters, the largest being in the middle where the combatants stood on opposite ends, the consequences of their destruction surrounding them.

This notion confused the scientist. She could have undone the whole thing if she wanted to. At the push of a button, everything would go back to the beginning, and he wouldn’t remember it. She was a god, and could do anything she wanted without regrets.

So why was she crying?

Her mask had been damaged in the relentless bombardment of magic she had unleashed, revealing her tear-filled eyes. She didn’t look like a murderer. She just looked… broken.

A small part of him felt pity for her, but he knew it was necessary. And besides, he felt… kinda glad, almost satisfied. It was refreshing to know he still had control over something in his life.

But he knew he couldn’t keep going for long. Everything was aching, and his forehead was pouring down more sweat than a waterfall. He had to end the fight. Fast.

If he couldn’t… he would have to use his special attack.

The demonic lady flinched; that’s when he realized he spoke aloud. He chuckled, speaking some more.

“that’s right. my special attack. sound familiar? well, get ready, cuz after this next move, i’m gonna use it. so… if you don’t want to see it…”

He snapped his fingers, nightmarish skulls forming behind him.

“Now would be a good time to DIE.”

The lady growled, a red orb appearing in her hand as the monochrome energy beams of his blasters blasted into her. She flew back, her clothes almost completely burnt as she shot the red column towards her enemy. He sprinted to his right, leaping towards the floor as the charged energy column smashed into the pillar next to him. The pillar tipped, falling towards Sans. His eyes turned pinprick sized as the shadow of the support covered his form.

It crashed with a thunderous rupture, dust filling the air.

The lady started to go onto her knees, the adrenaline slowly fading. It was finally over….

“well…”

She looked up, incredulous. She begged for it to be fake. That she was hearing things.

“here goes nothing… ready? survive THIS..”

Bones appeared everywhere, aimed at her and poised to end the fight with one stroke...

“and I’ll show you my special attack.”

------------------------------

Weiss leaped into the air, dodging the five bones as they pierced the ground. She parted the cloud of dust around her, sailing up to the roof of the hall. She looked around, trying to find her enemy whom had eluded certain death seconds earlier.

She saw him at the other end of the hall at the entrance to the throne room. Two blasters were at his side, and he was standing on top of a fallen pillar, with several more providing obstacles to her path.
Touching down on the ground, she held onto her rapier, racing towards the skeleton as he threw literally everything he had at her. Bones shot out from everywhere, from above, from the ground, from her side, and behind. The two gaster blasters at his side shot a constant stream of explosive beams, the room filling up with their inane mechanical whirring.

Yet no matter what he did, she kept going. For every bone that impaled her, she parried five more. For every laser that singed her, she responded by running faster. It wasn’t even Determination that kept her going. It was something else... something he couldn’t describe in words as she rapidly closed the distance between them, a smile contrasting the tears in her eyes.

The skeleton’s hand twitched as she drew closer, his blasters missing more and more and his bones becoming more erratic.

She leaped into the air, raising her sword. She was so focused on her opponent that she did not notice her body had turned blue, his hand was raised, and he was glaring at her, genuinely glaring at her, in the most enraged manner possible.
