>> Finn: Halt Potential Housefire
#4
After spamming around ten YouTube videos, Finn closed everything and just laid on the couch. YouTube was boring; people didn't respond quickly enough for it to be fun right now. Hunger was taking the best of him, and if he continued fighting on the internet, his next victim would probably be his laptop. And if his aunt didn't have enough money for a stupid launch at work, she sure wouldn't replace his laptop. Again. But you know who might be a good victim right now? That stupid piece of garbage that infested his room with that awfull smell. That thing deserved it!

Finn ran to his room, and there it was. The burning computer. Now was a good time to test that old pipe. But why stop with just the computer? There ware plenty of other broken cricuits and robots on that pile, all of those only there to remain Finn of his failures, all equally deserving of his childish wrath.

Fighting against innanimate objects made Finn forget a little while about his hunger. It was always fun to break stuff and, as long as he didn't destroy something important, who cared?

Although his tantrum got interrumpted when Finn heard a loud crash, one he didn't do himself. With a little backwards jump and a scream, he stopped messing around with his stuff to hear what was that. Frozen in place, he payed close attention to all the other noises that could be heard: the fridge, the people outside... A lot of car horns. Something definetly happened outside his house, and Finn went to his window to see.

A car crash against a bike. Some people were gathered around the accident, while the rest of the cars just stood there. Some of them went to check out, probably out of worry, while others appeared pretty annoyed at the sudden clog in traffic, and didn't hesitate to let everyone know by spamming their car horns.

Finn didn't care about the accident, and could enter in the category of the “annoyed and pissed off”, because now his front door and surroundings were plagued with people, and probably will be for the next hours until everything calmed down. But, something stood there that grabbed Finn's attention between all the mess. That was a delivery bike. Finn could solve his food problem by calling a delivery. That was genius, if it wasn't for the fact that he should have had that idea an hour early. But anyways, food, finally!

He went to the living room, again, and grabbed his laptop to order food. No way he'll call for it. Nope, that was what online services were for.

He didn't have the money to order a complete launch, like pizza, but the grocery store had a delivery service, so he could just order some “shitty weaboo cereal”, AKA instant ramen, and be done with it. Yes, it sounded like a good plan, one already on execution and in the process to be completed. Waiting for the guy to come was all that was left to do.

After around twenty minutes, the delivery finally came with the little bag of ramen. Making a whole order for only one item when the store was three blocks away could be the explanation for why the delivery guy looked Finn like that. But this is not the time to dwell into other people's thinking process. And who cares about this order? This was his job. Was judging people part of the job? Didn't think so. So better be over with it and start preparing his launch. Although maybe the guy was a little worried about the accident just in front of his door, so that could be it too. But there is no time for that. Finn payed the guy and he left.

Now, the last part of his plan: the coocking and the actual eating of the ramen.

Once it was ready, going back to his computer sounded like a good course of action. It wasn't the time to annoy more people, as writting while eating it's kind of unconfortable, so it'll be just exploring the internet and do more personal things. Like wasting more time on DeviantArt to expand the already clogged folder of “reference art”, which was an excuse to save pretty illustrations.

On the profile of one of the artists, there was a discussion about videogames. They were talking about “casual” videogames, like The Sims. At some point, someone mentioned that there exist a game like that, but for real life. This didn't sound like a real game, but if there could be people who can spawn entire towns out of thin air, then they sure can create a game where you can play The Sims with real people, so this called for some research.

A Google search, first link, and there it was a random blog with the whole game for downloading. The screenshots showed a clunky and ugly interface, and in the comments a lot of people were debating over how boring it was, since there wasn't really much to do in it. If people find a game boring, then they don't understand the point of it. Unless it was a genuinly shitty game of course, but in either case, this looked like good enough publicity to convince Finn to try the game.

And he would do it if it wasn't for the obnoxius long download time. Really, the files weren't that heavy to need a whole hour to download!

In the meantime, annoying some of his “friends” to see if he could convince them to play was the only thing left to do. LiteraryEnthusiast was online, so she'll be the chosen one for this task:

Well, that was a success! Paige agreeded to play with him. This would be great! Although, going about past experiences, playing with online people one doesn't know in real life proved to be not that great actually. The last time Finn convinced someone to try a random online game, his “teammates” happened to be all trashtalking fuckers who wouldn't shut up about how everyone else played terrible. And getting insulted for no reasson was one of the biggest pet peeves of Finn, so online gaming with randoms got banned from his hobbies.

Paige didn't seem like someone who would insult everyone out of frustration though, and if she did, judging by her chat quirk, it may be hilarius, so calling for her didn't appear as bad of an idea.

Finn's recalling of past memories and the introspection that comes with that got interrumpted by... No one other than Frisk! Who knew she could contact him on her own. Maybe she wasn't as undecisive as Finn thought. He mentally beated himself a little over judging people with too little information. That was one of the signs of a looser, and Finn has too much pride to consider himself one.

This didn't went as Finn expected. On one side, Frisk already knew about the game, and she wanted to play too. That was great, even if a bit strange how suddenly everyone wanted to play the same game out of nowhere. But that's not the most important thing. That is... Frisk looks... Weird, in an “I don't want to know because it's probably depresing” kind of way. Whatever it was, Finn didn't want to know. This was too personal. But he couldn't not think about it, Frisk looked so lonely. No one but someone who feels abandoned would be so concerned about others leaving her behind. In a way, Finn felt a little sympathetic for her. He didn't know why, as he didn't felt lonely at all, but knowing her online friend needed people on her side was enough for... Wanting to help. His friend. Yes, a friend.

Until the game finished downloading, Finn continued searching for pretty illustrations on internet. He didn't want to think what just happened.
