Weiss vs Sans (The Battle of the Underground)
#6
Are you…

trying to make me do the right thing?

Weiss felt her hands move with a determination her mind didn’t feel right now, her hand making a motion as though she was pointing accusingly at Sans, even as his gaster blasters appeared. A  red dot of light appeared on the tip of Weiss’s finger, glistening like a miniature star, and Sans cocked his head curiously as the familiar sound of the gaster blasters mixed with the faint rumble of Weiss’s cero, red and white power colliding in an explosion of rock and dust.

A yellow glow manifested through the cloud of debris, the crater in the middle of the judgement hall readily apparent.
Doing the right thing got my friends killed.
It was soon accompanied by another red one, as a second cero lanced out towards the same spot Sans was once standing, the stronger blast smashing the wall behind her pint-sized opponent.
Doing the right thing left me lonely and bleeding.

The dust warped and trailed after the red blast, throwing away the obscuring cloud of debris to Reveal a masked huntress, a white mask of bone and teeth covering most of Weiss’s face.
The yellow eyes and black Sclera were quite apparent.

So why…

The hollowfied huntress looked around with a subtle scan of her eyes, and noticed the glimmering of a blue and yellow eye, farther away. The skeleton held up his hand to throw something at his opponent, but Weiss wasn’t about to let her opponent past that easily.
Weiss simply appeared in front of Sans, slashing for the revenant’s chest, and she heard the rip of fabric as blue cloth hit the ground.
Sans looked at her with a mix of surprise and shock in his face, and Weiss couldn’t help but growl behind her mask, her eyes fixed on Sans like the face of a predator.

Say something, then! Give me some cute quip-

...Sounds strange, but before all of this, I was secretly hoping we could be friends.”

...What are you doing?

I always thought the anomaly was doing this cause they were unhappy.

Weiss exhaled in surprise, the sound of her voice warped by the mask, before she held up her hand in response, the next cero dodged easily by the skeleton.

It’s not… I don’t…

Finish him! He’s tired! Go!” Chara’s voice rang in Weiss’s head.

And when they got what they wanted, they would stop all this.

“It’s… not that simple.” Weiss muttered to herself quietly, too low for Sans to hear, as she charged forward, desperately attacking. The air warped around the pressure of her strikes, each attack creating a blur of motion, but now, her enemy was dodging every strike easily. It felt like she was a cat chasing a laser pointer.

And maybe all they needed was… I dunno. Some good food. Some bad laughs. Some nice friends?

“...Stop it!” Weiss growled, dashing after the skeleton, only to find herself running into a beam of white magic, the blaster singeing her shoulders
But that’s ridiculous, right?

Sans danced away with a squeak, his slippers sweeping the floor, and Weiss slashed out with myrtenaster, a flurry of ice shards following him. Sans dodged each one slowly, like he knew they were coming.

I don’t need you judging me! You don’t know why I’m doing this! You don’t…
You do. I’ve done it to you.
Weiss blinked harshly as her head began to ache, and a trio of bones smacked against her head, nearly knocking her off her feet and causing her to respond with a cero that went wide of her target.

I can’t do it. I can’t say goodbye to them. I have to save them..

After all, you’re the type of person who won’t ever be happy.

The revenant’s eye flashed on the last syllable, as he winged Weiss’s shoulder with a slider from behind. She responded with a dash followed by a flurry, dozens of mortal blows thrown from every angle and direction in a second. Weiss felt the skeleton’s shirt rip, and yet, his confidence…

So… please… stop fighting… and just… let me WIN!

Weiss couldn’t help but cry out, the mask layering her voice into an unearthly wail as she held up her palm, a blast of red energy just barely missing her opponent. Weiss kept firing, each blast either met by a gaster blaster or dodged, before she realized with some frustration that she wasn’t even leading her target, the judgement hall dotted with explosions.

Weiss Took a frustrated breath, her hands balled up into fists, her shifted eyes wide. The sound of cracking ice accompanied the feeling of the air on her face, as part of her mask fell to the ground, revealing the tears hidden beneath.
