All Too Familiar
#5
Again and again Lubbock's blade met the armoured bodies of the soldiers, every slash deliberately not lethal but breaking more than a few bones at least. Once he arrived at the giant, though, things would change; blood would fly, bodies would crumple. It was all he could do to show mercy to those he encountered along the way. Seriously, what's going on here?! He growled in his head, just wanting answers to the massacre being executed around him.

And it was in his moment of deep thought that a sharp pain sunk deep into his right shoulder. Blood splattered up and across his cheek as the bolt pierced his flesh, and he instinctively gripped the shaft of the deadly projectile. "Damnit..." He cursed, ripping the bolt from his shoulder and reaching into his coat, drawing out a single dagger. His forest eyes locked onto the tin can that had fired the bolt, panicking as he tried to load another round.

He wasn't going to get that chance.

With a powerful swing, Lubbock launched the dagger at his foe, ripping through the air like a dart, the sun glinting off of the speeding steel. The tip pierced the archer's throat, blood pooling around the small blade as he choked and spluttered up his own red life liquid. With a sharp exhale, Lubbock tugged on the wire that had been attached from the dagger and ripped it from the soldier's throat, leaving a black and red gaping hole in its place. Jerking his hand back, the wire screamed back into the disc on the back of his glove, and the thick handle of the dagger slipped nicely into his palm, before he drove it into the sheath inside his coat.

"Back to business." He grunted turning back to face the giant, only to see a wave of darkness tear across the earth in front of him, cleanly taking out a trio of soldiers. "What the sh-" He began to curse, before catching the glint of steel to his right, narrowly pivoting back to dodge a heavy strike from an axe. "Woah, calm down!" He jested, unraveling the blade in his right hand and slinging the silver threads around his opponent's body, clamping his arms against himself. "Yeah, sorry 'bout this." He apologized, before tugging tightly on the wires, crushing the soldier with his own armour. Sighing, he drew his wires back in and dashed off towards the chaos up ahead.

As he approached a squad of silver soldiers, distracted by the gentle giant, he skidded to a stop, whipping his wires out behind him, slowly weaving them into and enormous axe, which he proceeded to raise above his head and whirled it around in wide circles, whipping up a powerful wind around him. The attention of multiple nearby soldiers was drawn to him, and their eyes widened in fear. "Oh, don't worry about me." He reassured them with a smirk. "I'm just dealing with-" He grunted, bringing the axe down in an overhead swing, splitting one of the soldiers in half and knocking the surrounding survivors flat on their asses. "-business!" He shouted as the heavy weapon cracked the earth below, and he sighed, looking around at his down opponents.

"Pfft. Come on." He coaxed the soldiers, slinging his wires out in preparation to take them out.
