Kill Or Be Killed (Chara vs Doomguy Mock Fight)
#8
You can't kill a Prime. Everyone knew this. As long as Omni kept his nonexistent eye on them, they would always come back after death. The general answer to this was to banish any troublesome prime to the Underverse, where the hellish minions that lived there would have their way with them. But the Empire was a bit more long term thinkers than the average bounty hunter or concerned citizen. They knew that anyone banished would fight for Diablo should he ever find his way back into the Omniverse. Each prime banished was like handing him a nuke. So they've gone to great pains to find alternatives to keeping Primes captive and hidden from the rest of the world.

It has been months since the fight between the primes known as Chara and Doomguy at monument plaza. Despite what the marine thought, she had survived the tower falling onto her and had been carted away and healed... before she was then taken to what the Empire called a mental hospital. What it should have been called was a prison, but rather than metal bars and guards they locked them in their own minds. Unsure of anything and never knowing they were held against their will in the first place.

Chara didn't know this. After they tweaked her head, she thought she had come in willingly as an empire civilian that needed help. She'd see the doctor who'd tell her she was progressing but would still need more time, she'd do all the little activities with the other patients, and when she asked the nurses about her dreams she had about a family of goats and another child her age with a knife, they'd tell her to take her meds and everything would be okay. And this went on for some time.

Until one day, as she tried for the nth time to try to get her bunk make Pete to talk (who'd just stare at the wall all day), she heard an great commotion down the hallway and the floor under her rumbled. It was if a large weight had smashed into a wall, followed closely by a firefight. She couldn't see anything as the little window in her room's door was too high, but she heard something that gave a clear idea of what was happening: A single man screaming insults and death threats as he unleashed hell.

"You can have your fucking medal back!" It might have been more dramatic if I had thrown the medal in question at the stormtrooper that rushed towards me, but since I had melted it down for scrap some time ago I chose instead to pump him full of buckshot. Those that hadn't fled in terror had made a beeline towards where the assault boat had crashed through the building's wall, only to find a unfortunate fate at either my hands or the squad of other marines that joined me. There was little resistance here, but unless we got the prisoners rounded up quickly we were going to find ourselves elbow deep in plastic soldiers.

"Alright, start getting everyone on the boat" I ordered as I slammed the button labeled "emergency release" on the controls we 'parked' next to. "Remember, these people have probably been brainwashed to hell and back, so don't get rough with them" With that I sprinted down the halls to do my part, directed people down the hall and occasionally knocked the teeth in of any of the "handlers" that decided that coming at me with a needle full of bad news was a good idea.

And there was that little brat. Chara, the insane child that attacked me months ago in my last last visited this wretched hive of scum and villainy, not looked just as confused and lost as everyone else. She never popped up at the nexus when a prime normally would and I had absentmindedly dismissed her as a secondary. Instead she was trapped here. Despite my own annoyance at her after the fight was over, I still felt some responsibility to get her out of this hellhole.

"Chara!" I called out and she nearly jumped out her skin as she was caught unaware. She seemed so unfamiliar with me, or anything for that matter. But when I knelt down to her level and pulled the heart locket from my pocket, she looked as if lightning had struck her. Her eyes grew wide, looking down at the floor in thought as she tried to think the information just presented to her "I think this belongs to you"

She pulled it it away from me and opened it up, where the same picture and the same two names etched into it. There was not much time for recollections, as I heard the thundering footsteps of the Empire's little toy soldiers get closer.

"We can do this later. MOVE!" I ordered, and the two of us ran towards the assault vehicle.
