Cold...Just like home.
#2
After trudging through snow for a little less than an hour, the Remnant duo came to a halt. An open field of snow laid in front of them. Amber could hardly hold back her excitement. "'Saki, this is the perfect spot." She said loudly looking around for any signs of the area already being claimed. "Yeah," the deep voice came from behind Amber, "but how are we going to build the base? There's only two of us and we have no equipment or resources." Amber laughed at Murasaki's question. "You seem to be forgetting that I am a goddess here. The only limit to my experience in this world is my imagination. If I want a base, it'll be mine." The dark haired boy rubbed the back of his head, a little discomforted by that statement. "Uh, yeah. I guess that it works in our benefit, just don't let that power go to your head little Ms. Goddess. It's great to realize what you're capable of, but don't let that drive you so mad you go into a lust for power."

"I'm fine Murasaki, you make sound like I would become a bad dude or something. Just give me awhile, and watch my back. The bigger the thing is, the longer it takes to create." She said tossing up her Omnilium orb of many colors in the air and catching it as it came back down into her palm. "Alright, don't wear yourself out." Murasaki said quietly, as walked around a bit, observing their surroundings and taking in the surrounding while being vigilant of trespassers.

It took a pretty long time. Steel walls formed slowly from the ground up out of thin air and a glowing light. Snow flurried past Amber's face while she concentrated hard on what she wanted the base to look like. Steel walls countless feet high, covered in snow and ice with a big gaping door for an entrance with watchtowers and anything else her crazy teenage mind could think of.

An hour later, the giant fort was formed. Murasaki stood in awe, he honestly did not expect something like this from Amber. “Jeez Amber, that looks amazing. It’s perfect.” Amber chuckled to herself. “Yeah, now all we need is Rose and Ellise. I’m sure they’d love to see this. Let me summon them, then we can get set up.” Before standing back up, Amber took more time on her summoning to bring the rest of her friends to the new world they were trapped in. First was Rose, the petite, musician and sniper. She appeared before the two and took a deep breath. “What the hell?! Where am I-? Amber! We thought you died!” Murasaki informed Rose of their new situation while Amber took her time to summon Ellise. “I see, sounds like this a test of fate for us.” Said Rose. “Uh, I guess you could put it that way. To me it’s more of an odd turn of events, but for whatever reason we’re here, we’re all alone. So it is most definitely a test.”

A another set of minutes went by, and soon their taller long haired friend, Ellise appeared. She put her hand on her forehead and groaned. “Uhh, what just happened? Amber? Is that you? Did I pass out or something?” Amber finally stood, wiping the snow off her clothes. “There. Now that the team is all here. We can get started. This world is crazy, and we will survive. This is our Base of Operation: Fort AMBR.” Ellise rubbed her arms and shivered, “Dammit Amber! You’re one of my best friends but why the hell did you choose the coldest of locations for a base of operation?!”

“Because it reminds me of home, and this is sort of the only place that seems to be around in this area. Everywhere in this world seems to just be terribly cold.” Amber said without taking her eyes off her fort. “Well that’s just lovely.” Ellise muttered with sarcasm, “I’ll need some warmer clothes.”

The team walked into their new home, where their adventure would surely begin.
"I've been neglected, harassed, beaten, and diminished all my life. What motivates me to continue? The glory of proving people wrong. Being worth more than the numbing existence offered me. To be a hero." - Amber
