It seems those stupid comments Finn left on Deviantart were showing their fruits. That terrible shading, bad coloring and sloppy linework, not to mention the over the top wings on her back. The comments were probably all friends of the artist, and everyone was praising how good that Mary Sue was. But there was this one comment, an insult to the character, telling how terrible the drawing was. Finn agreeded with the rude outsider: it was a terrible piece of art, but this time he prefered to play the good guy and defend the artist.
He has been fighting with this random guy for the past two days, exchanging comments about the real meaning of talent.
This were the comments:
Shadowsonic666: That drawing is terrible, and ya'll a bunch of fanboys defending traced art. If you can call that piece of shit art
03UncertainGreed: It seems you have come to this public website to bash some potential talented artist here. She may not be that skilled at this making oc's thing, but insulting her work is anything but productive. Like yeah, sure, i'm gonna listen to this random person on the internet and say “oh man this guy has such constructive critisism now i'll be making the next Picasso instead of my own shitty oc's because this is so insighfull holy shit”
Shadowsonic666: What the fuck are you talking about. It doesn't even make sense. And dealing with negative critisism is part of publishing art online. I'm just telling the truth, that drawing is a piece of traced bullshit, you can't call that “potential talented artist”
03UncertainGreed: Everyone has the potential to become a talented artist if they work hard enough
Shadowsonic666: That's like, the oposite of talented. A talented person is someone inhately good at something. Tracing art is anything but inhately good at something
03UncertainGreed: As a good man once said: “Talent is a pursued interest”. Tracing art is one way of learning the amazing joy of becoming an awesome artist
Shadowsonic666: Tracing art is, like, ilegal, and one of the worst things you can do on these kind of websites that features drawings
03UncertainGreed: And i'm just here thinking “who the fuck cares” as i enjoy this amazing piece of Mary Sue
CuddleAmyRose: I'm blocking both of you
Finn refreshed the page to keep commenting but... Man, what a shame. It seems the author blocked both him and the other guy. Well, it was fun when it lasted. Playing as a highly refined guy was always entertaining.
He looked back at the mess his failed attempt at running an old computer did. The smell of burning circuits was filling the air, perhaps thanks to the still smoking piece of junk at his desk. Maybe he should stop doing this stuff, he'll never be an engineer at this pace... But just as talent is a pursued interest, getting good at something requires a lot of work and persistence. One can never reach his dreams without persistence...
Like he believed the stuff he said the other random guy. Yeah, working hard on any field is a given, but doing it for the last five years and still making things explode...
Not like he'll stop doing it. Of course not. Giving up is for loosers.
Finn stood up from his bed, picked up his laptop and walked to the desk. In a violent move, he pushed the piece of junk to the ground to give space for his laptop. Unfortunately for him, there was a bottle of chinese ink in the way, now broken in the ground with all its contains splattered in the wooden floor. Man, another one. He'll have to be more carefull with them, as the dry rests of other dozen and more spots of ink in his room could mean that maybe, just maybe, he has being too sloppy to handle them. His aunt already threatened him to stop buying his precious art supplies if he keeps wasting them on nothing, plus the mess they always make.
Well, he'll deal with that later. Now it was time for another of his shitty masterpieces. Fighting over traced Mary Sues reminded him of his own oc's, and now was the perfect time to draw another picture of Goliath the Dragon. Who said one can't make a sonic oc out of a mythical creature!
So, he took out his drawing tablet. This deserved a full illustration with color and background, even if the latter were always just a diffused circle of color behind his characters. Drawing backgrounds is hard.
For maximum potential, Finn navigated a little more on Deviantart for more inspiration. There were so many wonderfull cool pictures of dragons... Wait, what was that? This looked like another sonic oc, and a dragon at that! How dare this random person steal his fantastic idea! This is blasphemy, outragerous heresy brought upon the fake gods of crappy art, whatever that sentence made sense or not.
This called for some... Cooling down. Finn's drawings were crappy art already and... It's not like anyone EVER thought about using a dragon for an oc. The worst part is that this person drawed ten times better than Finn could ever dream, with that amazing shading and color palettes. In a way, it was inspiring, like, this could be how his own drawings would turn out some day.
His drawing motivation died down. Now it was a good time to pester some of his friends, and vent about this weird revelation about his own skills and the not so randomness nature of the internet:

Ok, that was something. Of course she'll like his drawing, and maybe now he convinced her to start making her own oc's! That was a good thing. No one on the internet has seen Finn's drawings, but this little event could maybe mean that he should start using that Deviantart account for something more than fight on comment sections and upload his works.
Yeah, maybe never. But he'll stick with sharing his drawings with FA. She looked like a good girl, someone who wouldn't insult his drawings, even his shittiest ones.
But now, it was time for eating something. His aunt wouldn't be here until nighfall, so his launch will have to be the cold rests of last night, like the cold shards of a person's broken dreams made by shitty internet trolls trying to destroy random people's self steem.
That needed to be a poem.

This called for an amazing drawing... Of a goat sonic oc. Seriously who the fuck has a goat for a favorite animal? This girl perhaps. But Finn will be a good guy and draw her the little goat oc.With his tablet and laptop on his desk, he started drawing it. It was faster than his normal works, as he didn't want to make the girl wait too long, but it sacrificed some finer details, like a good background.
