Weiss vs Sans (The Battle of the Underground)
#2
Weiss stepped forward slowly, painfully aware of what she had to do.
“Don’t stop now. You’re so close…” that same, strange voice rang in… Weiss’s head. It was harder for her to remember her name, as time went on. She didn’t know if that was due to whatever spirit floated above her head, or simply a consequence of murdering so many monsters.
Monsters, she called them… she had no room to judge.

“Just a little farther, and they’ll come back.” that same voice rang, and Weiss’s glare narrowed.
That was right. Their lives for her team’s. That was the deal she’d made, the reason she’d been slaughtering innocent lives this long. Thousands of lives for three.

Weiss knew she was nothing but selfish, but… at this point, she didn’t care. If killing this wisecracking skeleton was all she needed to do, she wouldn’t hesitate.

With that thought, Weiss dashed forward, aiming to end the wisecracker in one strike. With the amount of LoVe she’d managed to accumulate, combined with the speed she’d already honed in countless battles, there was no doubt in the killer’s mind that this battle would be over in a single blow.

Weiss’s body turned into a blur of motion as she moved, her body becoming a human bullet as she moved ten feet in a tenth of a second.
Her rapier struck like a bullet, poised and trained on the skeleton’s infuriatingly calm head. At least he’d die quickly.

“...On days like these, girls like you…
s h o u l d b e b u r n i n g i n h e l l”

Weiss’s eyes widened in shock, not because of the fact her blade had just tasted nothing but air, or because of the skeleton’s words.
The portly revenant was speaking from behind her.
Weiss turned around just in time for an onslaught of bones to slide through the ground and ihit her square in the chin, knocking the heiress half off her feet.. A volley of bones streaked towards Weiss a split-second later, and she barely managed to cartwheel out of the way. Myrtenaster spun as Weiss charged forward, trying her best to retaliate with a wide horizontal slash.

The attack hit air, and Weiss turned by instinct to find the skeleton staring her right in the eyes, the menacing skull of some nightmarish horror glaring from behind him as his eye rapidly flashed from blue to yellow. Weiss threw herself to the side just half a second before a beam of vibrant ivory baked the area she had just stood. a second pair of canine skulls materialized in the same direction Weiss rolled, and the huntress barely managed to jump out of the way of the second pair of beams. The panicked woman surveyed the ground below for Sans, only for a sudden impact to the back of her skull to arrest her momentum, causing her to fall as she twisted in the air, trying to see what she’d managed to strike her skull on….

The canine face of a gaster blaster stared back, and Weiss threw up her hands defensively as a pair of energy beams baked her from above and below.
“...You get the feeling you’re going to have a bad time.”

Weiss fell to the ground, smoke steaming from her ruined jacket. Wasting no time, she immediately stood back up, scanning the area for her surprisingly powerful opponent.

His grinning face wasn’t hard to find, and Weiss didn’t hesitate, dashing forward and barraging him with a flurry of lunges, thrusts, and slashes even as he neatly sidestepped each and every attack, his hands still hanging in his pockets.

Just one hit. I need just one hit. Weiss thought frustratingly, her blade missing by inches each time. Another set of bones smashed into her from behind, And Weiss pushed her weight into her heels to stop from falling. Sans just stood in front of her, giving her that same smile, and Weiss sprang forward in kind, ignoring the ache in her muscles.
But Weiss was already starting to figure out his movements, and the skeleton’s cockiness had left him sitting firmly in her range, as she relentlessly struck, forcing him to dodge backwards, towards one of the golden pillars of the hall of judgement, with a series of quick stabs, before guiding him just a bit to the right with a carefully placed slash.
A chilling smile graced Weiss’s features as she sent a swift kick from his left, pinning him against the pillar. He couldn’t get away from this close.
Only… her leg ended up smacking against the pillar, instead.
Weiss had been lead into a trap the whole time, she realized. The whine of the Gaster blasters behind her confirmed that suspicion.
