Doomguy Vs The World (IC thread)
#18
Grundy stood in front of the raving madman, panting. The undead giant simply stood and ignored his tirade of threats and expletives, until he reached for his chainsaw.

"RIP AND TEEEA-", the marine was interrupted by a swift blow to the jaw.

"GRUNDY THINK MAN NEED TO BE QUIET."

Gripping his saw firmly and spitting a glob of bloody saliva onto the floor, Taggart charged. He bounded towards his target manically, waving his blade in stammering, frantic swipes. Sidestepping Grundy's attempt at a second strike, he cleaved into the giant's arm, splattering the ground with chunks of dull green viscera as he laughed to himself in a drug-fueled haze.

The rotting colossus responded in kind, stumbling forward and letting loose a flurry of blows, swinging with all the care and grace of a drunken, enraged bull. Heedless of Taggart's frenzied torrent of slashes and jabs, Grundy continued without relent, weathering the marine with by-blow after by-blow until he could finally get in a proper hook.

"STAY STILL. GRUNDY NOT SMASH SO FAST.", the monster roared.

"TRY AND KEEP UP ZOMBIEMAN!", Doomguy screamed in reply, "HERE COMES THE GRAND FUCKIN' FINALE! CHOO CHOO!"

Tumbling across the concrete to the side of the rampaging monster, Taggart leaped up and smashed his fist into the undead's exposed temple, sending splinters of bleached bone flying through the air. The berserk marine followed up with a blow to the gut, sawing deep into his opponent's torso and tossing him through the air, right into the floating, skeletal annoyance in the distance.

Tartaros grunted in pain as he rose to his feet. The bastard had got him good. Real good. An aching burn was all he could feel in his arm, and it could barely move at the shoulder, but petty things like pain had never stopped one of the Emperor's angels of death before, and they sure as in all the hells weren't going to today. Picking his trusted chainblade up off the ground, forcing his arm back into position with a sickening crunch and taking his archaeotech serpenta from its mag-lock, the Luna Wolf headed back into the fray.

The marine charged across the roof, cracking concrete underfoot as he ran. He forced his arm upwards and fired at the rampaging man-and-a-half ahead of him. The distinctive hissing crackle and low choom of a firing volkite sounded as a ray of glowing orange heat blasted a burning hole through Taggart's leg. The madman shouted threats and curses at the top of his lungs, only seeming further incensed by the injury as he continued his one-man crusade of carnage.

"Kill for the living, kill for the dead!", Tartaros cried through a half-working vox grille, leaping across the ruined rooftop with agility usually far beyond one of his size and age. Ah, it had been decades since he last said those words.

The Luna Wolf jumped towards Doomguy, and brought his still-revving chainblade down into his shoulder, tearing a large crimson gash through his torso. But still the marine stood.

"Nice weapon!", he laughed to himself heartily, "Now let me try mine! She sounds just delightful!"

Taggart swung, and cleaved through part of Tartaros' plate. The sound of the berserk marine's incoherent ramblings was drowned out by the terrible screech of steel against steel, if only for a moment. As Taggart went in for a follow-up strike, the power armoured marauder met the first with the flat of his blade and ducked out the way of the second. The two traded blows, parrying, dodging and tearing into each-other until the floor began to run red with blood.

"Over the ridge.", Tartaros mumbled to himself, as he avoided one the crazed marine's swipes by a hair's width, "And into the jaws!". The marauder tried to avoid the second blow, but Taggart was too fast, and the whirring teeth of the marine's chainsaw tore through the ceramite plating his arm. "OF HELL!"

Tartaros hefted his blade high into the air, and brought it down into Taggart's abdomen before pulling the trigger just inside the handle. As the weapon's teeth tore through the marine's armour, a torrent of flame was released from the cartridge inside its guard. The blast burned through clothing and seared sinew, giving Tartaros a short window of time to riposte. The marauder took his chance, striking his target at the leg and knocking him back with a blow to the gut. Taggart responded in kind with a fierce uppercut, and the violent struggle began anew.

Eventually, one began to win out. Knocking his opponent's blade back, Taggart plunged his fist deep into Tartaros' chest, shattering part of his ossified ribcage with a vicious, sickening crack. The marauder fell to his knees. He coughed and spluttered, fresh blood dripping from the corner his mouth as Doomguy laughed.

"YOU DONE YET BIG GUY?!"

He wasn't. Not by a long shot.

Forcing himself forward through agony by what seemed to be force of will along, Tartaros went for the kill. He drove the guard of his chainsword into Taggart's throat and tackled him onto the bloodstained concrete, sending the detonator skidding across the ground. Both marines stood, broken and battered, glaring at each-other. The sun was beginning to set, and there but a single sound that echoed across the whole rooftop. The guttural roar of two engines.

Yeah, sorry I couldn't fit much of anything with Sans or Somerled in. I'm not half as good at 4v1 posts as DG. Hopefully Sans' post can rectify that though.
