If I may, I would contend that faith-based magic doesn't need to be connected to the deities in question in the Omniverse. Omni would surely change the rules to ensure such. The caster's personal conviction would likely be enough.
Ornstein himself is an example. He's said to have been well-versed in numerous miracles, but to have died failing the final command given to him by his god has surely shaken his faith. This is my IC reasoning for his inability to use miracles at the moment; as he comes to terms with his fate and resumes his quiet worship of Gwyn, however, those powers will return to him. Over time, I'll introduce more of his miracles as Moves and possible Super Moves.
