Nexus Battle Royale — Threat Elimination Protocol (PvP)
#25
Harbinger looked upon the devastation They had wrought and They deemed that it was good.

One fusion lay bloody at Their feet while the other had literally been broken. The rest of Their opponents had been broken or had scattered. This, too, was good.

The mightiest fusion snorted derisively in spite of Their lack of a nose, before breaking into a peal of sinister laughter.

They gazed upon the separated forms of Agent Kanda.

Pity,” the gestalt chuckled. “We had hoped you would have offered us more of a challenge. We took notice of you. Alas, it was not to be.

“Fuck you,” Gamzio retorted, clambering up on noodling legs.

No,” Harbinger retorted, before blinking out of sight and back in again, Their face less than an inch from Gamzio’s. “Fuck you.

A flaming fist drove itself into the ‘rival’ fusion’s gut, lifting him off his feet, and then the gestalt blinked out and immediately back in again, behind Their victim, delivering a crushing knee to Gamzio’s spine, twisting and contorting the fusion’s entire form.

Harbinger vanished again, appearing at Gamzio’s side to throw a flying punch to the Raging Jokester’s jaw.

The troll-mage sailed through the air, and once again, the Harbinger leveraged the Aspect of Magus’ Shadowstep.

In the wavering monochrome In-Between, the Many-unto-One could see the Shadow People who had antagonized and unnerved Magus. Here, now, they seemed so utterly insignificant. Part of the Harbinger wanted to interrogate them, invigorated by the surging power within, but the other Aspects had a different hunger.

So They strode past the slowly drifting Gamzio, taking position directly in the way of the Prisoner of Rage. The Harbinger lazily raised an open hand while phasing back into the material plane, and instantly time caught up to Them.

The amalgamated fusion caught Gamzio’s head in Their open palm and immediately used his momentum to carry him up in a sweeping arc over the Harbinger’s flaming form and straight down into the unforgiving tiles of the Nexus.

Forgive Us, but We shall return to you soon,” the Harbinger rumbled as They turned Their back on Gamzio and toward the recuperating, recently-unfused duo.

The fiery force of nature paused for the briefest of moments to gaze at another spectacle unfolding before Them. The battered little robot was wheeling about in a wild, zig-zagging pattern as Okor furiously blasted at it with his devastating bolt pistol.

The Harbinger glared down at Yu and at Smith. “We are disappointed, Smith. For all your talk of loyalty and betrayal, you are quick to turn on those who help you.

“No-”

We were not done talking,” Harbinger flashed before Smith, clamping Their skeletal hand around his throat, silencing the impudent agent.

You genuinely thought you could defeat Us,” the Harbinger suppressed a chuckle. If it could have smirked, it would have. “We felt it. Your hope. Your… ambition. But,” Their grip tightened, and Smith’s skin rippled under the tension like the creaking of leather. “We were only warming up. Still, we also have… ambition. And this… diversion… has become boring.

So… it has come time for us to end it.

There was no build-up. No drama. Only a sudden, unimaginable catastrophic burst of noise so intense that Yu, Okor, the robot, and everyone else were thrown to the floor, even Gamzio.

All except the Harbinger, and the vermin suspended in Their grasp.

The bringer of Loss and Fear and Hunger and Ruin now shone a deep, angry red. Different than the shades of the Aspect of Atelos. Worse.

We are better than you,” the Harbinger hissed, flicking Smith away like a discarded tissue, only sending him careening at breakneck speed, straight into Yu.

The Harbinger flickered into being in front of Gamzio who was still recovering on his hands and knees from the fall.

Please, allow Us to help,” the gestalt reached down and grasped a fistful of Gamzio’s hair, before smashing his face into the tiles once, twice, three times, and then again, and again, and again. With each successive thwack, the Harbinger put more and more effort into the slam as a growing spattering of blood and spit decorated the Nexus. Soon, teeth and bits of flesh added to the macabre mix before a sharp clang of metal against bone rang out.

The Harbinger let go of Gamzio’s skull, leaving the profusely bleeding fusion for the moment and slowly, deliberately, turning to the source of the new sound. The swordsman and cracked his sword against the back of the gestalt’s head.

“You will be defeated, you monster. If not by my hand, then by another, but I cannot stand idly by while you murder him,” Kanda spat as he glared at the flaming amalgamation with death in his eyes.

We respect your bravery, but surely by now you must see that this is useless,” the Harbinger declared, before casually backhanding Kanda so hard he shrieked through the air and smashed through the crumbling wall of the Fountain.

The flames licking off the Harbinger were intense now, burning off Their bones in a hissing conflagration whose sound was reminiscent of the flamethrowers of Vietnam, a constant hiss-fwoom of energy that burst from Them with such hunger that they threatened to set the air on fire.

Smith, We are most angry with you,” They said as the Agent withdrew a gun from his suit and opened fire upon Them, bullets harmlessly bouncing off Them. A hard-light version of Smith’s Desert Eagle materialized in the Harbinger’s grip as They approached. “Most angry.

Harbinger levelled Their handgun at Smith’s knee and opened fire. A translucent .50 caliber bullet smashed into the man’s flesh, eliciting an agonized shriek-scream from the man, who fired at his fiery executioner until his slide locked open with a damning click.

Such… limitation. You know, we have hardly begun to push our boundaries. If We were capable of breaking a sweat, as it were, We would be nowhere near that point. You, on the other hand,” the Harbinger pointed Their gun at Smith’s good knee and pulled the trigger, and another animalistic scream erupted from the Agent’s lips.

A sudden, tackling blow staggered the Harbinger as Gamzio speared into Them, his face a grotesquely bruised and bloody mass of hamburger. The Harbinger slapped Their foe away, levelling the hard-light Deagle at him and unloading a barrage of bullets at him, before a bloody dragon soared in from above for a claw-raking, only to collapse in mid-strike, falling on top of the already succumbing Gamzio.

The Harbinger moved to tower over Smith, who lay useless at Their feet. Eyeless sockets bore down into Smith’s obscured eyes as the mightiest fusion raised an open palm at the Agent’s head. Blasphemous energies swirled into existence, purple-black flames congealed in a greasy fog.

We will bestow our gifts upon the Omniverse. Acceptance of our Blessings is non-negotiable.

The Harbinger has ascended to T2 and will maintain it for the rest of the round. New stats are 18/10/11/16. Tremble, mortals.

Harbinger has dealt harsh and brutal punishment to Yu, Smith, and Gamzio while Okor and Claptrap do battle.

The Rathalos is dead, having collapsed upon Gamzio.

Harbinger lords over Smith, prepared to blast a Gloom bolt through his face.
