Samus took short steps forward. Something in her mind was trying to speak, but she was too busy to pay it heed. Her blood was completely cold, and right now her training and instincts were making the decisions.

The machine appeared to have no weapons, but there was no telling what was hidden inside its body. Was it an ‘it’ or … a him? Its body language seemed human. Whether deceptive or not, it definitely was more than a simple machine of war. It seemed much more advanced than that.
