Red stood there with his chest puffed out in pride. They had done it, today they would become guards. Thor and Red wore the armor of the kingdom with pride as Grayson rambled on about the values of being a guard. Red nodded not really listening. The armor was terribly uncomfortable, he looked forward to changing back into his Kevlar and leather jacket. Besides the heavy Kingdom armor slowed him down considerably, making him less affective as a fighter.
Red looked at the other men whom Thor and Red had trained and worked hard with these last few months. That had become great friends. Despite being primes there was no longer the two classifications. They were one of the men, they were guards.
The group finished repeating the pledge of being a guard. Lots of protect and serve stuff. Red hoped they would be done soon, the metal armor was starting to chaff.
"Congratulations men, you've worked hard to come to this point. Now, you are Soldiers of the kingdom!" Grayson said raising his sword. The other guards that were able to make it to the ceremony clapped and cheered for their new brothers in arms.
"Report to Captain Vimes for your first orders, dismissed" Grayson said beaming at them.

You can't stop crime. That's what you never understood. I'm controlling it. You wanna rule them by fear, but what do you do with the ones who aren't afraid? I'm doing what you won't, I'm taking them out.
