Genesis of Apotheosis
#11
That explained that question, and Dane was satisfied with the knowledge he had at least one thing over Tearen. Although to be fair, Tearen wasn't actively looking for him at the time. The exchange also revealed a few things Dane didn't anticipate about Tearen's character: he could anger. It was suppressed well, but it was there. Dane had previously assumed Tearen was too logical and methodical to really have many present emotions. That thought process was mostly based around how Tearen fought like a machine in some ways. Calculated, precise and well-timed movements. Voided of any inherent meaning. Most opponents Dane had crossed weapons with in the past had tended to pour their essence into their strikes, be it fear, confidence, or anger.

Dane shook his head slightly, letting the hair that had grown slightly over the last month sway side to side. It didn't quite reach down towards his eyes, but it was getting close. There was no point in entertaining himself by justifying assumptions and playing internal or external mind games. He was here now, and if nothing else he vowed to enjoy the free food and hopefully the company that came with it.

Following Tearen to the table, he shrugged, sitting down in front of the food. "Just call me Dane, 'Mr. Regan' makes me feel old." There were questions he wanted to ask but felt it was necessary to first acquaint himself with the others. "I don't believe I've personally met any of you, but would I be correct in saying that some of you also came to Dante's Abyss?" He paused, gesturing. "Gamzee and Strazio, right?"
