I had wanted to play as Guu for years. I even had plans for a version of her on pathfinder and D&D4. I just really liked the idea of a troll goddess being brought down to the level of a mortal and having to learn mortal ways while slowly growing attached to a group of people. After reading some inspiring stories online, I decided to try forum RPs. I just went down RP Lists until I found Omniverse and thought it fit the character the most.
Oh god, Guu came a long ways from the start. I knew from the beginning I wanted Omniverse Guu to become much more benevolent than her anime counterpart, but ruling a kingdom wasn't my plan for her right off the bat. My first storyline was going to be slice-of-life stuff where she tries to keep a job at a bakery, but a long chat with Desco set me on the course with being her and Nyeseth's (Minato's) traveling partner. I had a lot of long term goals for Guu, like I wanted her to eventually find Omniverse Hollywood and become a TV Star, but I've long lost interest in doing that. I also planned for Guu to be the group's Nami, just a Utility character that helped the group out without getting too involved with fighting. This also didn't last. I also had this thing where Guu would switch to first person whenever she started getting introspective, but this confused people more than intrigued.
After rolling with Desco and Nyeseth for a while, I decided i needed some alone time and split with them, and it was around this time I started getting ideas for a kingdom full of the odd and bizarre of the Omniverse. My original plan was just to find some random empty field and establish a castle there, and then slowly gain my subjects through self imposed quests. I originally had plans to travel to all verses to find these people, but Proto said I needed to gain recognition in the Tangled before i could start a kingdom, so I set out to make a name for myself first.
My first stop was Langweilig town, a Camelot colony I made up filled with 70% old timey racists that execute non-humans, and 30% rebellious teenagers. I wanted to do a long storyline about Guu getting famous for converting a town of bigots into embracing diversity. However, early in that arc, Guu decided to troll some political leader from the Dunes named Gilgamesh over twitter. When his player came to me about him hunting me down for a fight, well, I took a chance for a fun storyline.
Glad I did, I think Guu'd vs. Evil is my favorite moment writing for this site.
Also, I never intended to turn Langweilig into Ambrosia originally, but the resulting battle between Guu provided me with the perfect opportunity.
You may have realized that the bigoted town would be the early prototype for Berry Blitzkrieg, well, you'd be on the mark there. BTW, the biggest inspiration for Princess Bonbon Sunshine was Starlight Glimmer from MLP if you were curious. Starlight's overall smugness really carried over to the character.
Not much to say from that. I did have alternate plans for Ambrosia along the way, but not too many to note.
