Quote:Before the Finale - obv :P
He appeared before the Spirit, who offered some worthless token praise and then some actually valuable Omnilium. Magus could feel the power buzzing within it as it absorbed itself into his constitution.
“You helped retrieve the final Relic, wizard. For that, I am thankful. Perhaps this terrible ordeal will soon finally be resolved. For that, I am in your debt.”
“Your words are hollow,” Magus retorted. “I came here for power and failed. I don’t need any theatrics. Just send me back to where you stole me from and never, ever, interfere with my life again, or I shall conceive of a new kind of suffering that will make what the Warlock has done to you seem like a momentary setback.”
The Spirit seemed to have found Magus’ threats as hollow as the wizard had found his speech, but he made no mention of it – until the Relics were returned to him and he finally prevailed over the Warlock once and for all, he had to remain guarded.
“As you wish, mage. I shall send you back to the Omniverse, just as y-”
“Wait!!” Janus shouted.
“Yes?”
“Can you send me back to where I came from? Before the Omniverse?” Magus tried to crush the hope down, tried to prevent it from snaking up where it could hurt him, but emotions betrayed him.
“No,” came the inevitable reply, along with the inevitable disappointment. “Would that I could. I am sorry.”
Magus nodded, and then looked away from the apparition. The Spirit took this to mean their conversation was complete, and again, Magus found himself falling away into oblivion.
