"Secondaries are trodden upon...?" Chara asked with a bit of a smile. "...It's complex. A lot of people do treat primes as special, but a lot of it seems to come down to the fact that most are afraid of what they'll do if they don't. Quite a few are bloodthirsty psychopaths. Many others believe themselves above law and order and will do as they please. As primes are a problem that doesn't go away so easily, secondaries are willing to give some lee-way. And since primes may manipulate omnilium, summoning practically anything with just a moment's thought, many of them are considered powerful indeed. However... no one expects anything from you, at least in terms of loyalty." Chara states. "...To a degree. You will find it difficult to be a prime in coruscant without swearing loyalty to the empire, for instance. And many would wish to cooperate with you in some fashion or another to advance their own cause." Chara adds.
Taking a small breath as they continued to walk down the cobblestone streets, Chara made a gesture to the fractured wall nearby, and the men and women working on repairs to the nearby wall section. "This place was attacked by a fierce army recently, led by a trio of primes. They seemed to have no other reason than simple bloodlust to do so, and yet they caused considerable damage to this town. as this is not uncommon... Primes get an automatic measure of respect. Until you prove yourself, however, this will not extend to trust, by any means." Chara added.
"Wow, Chara! Look at all these houses!" Asriel exclaimed, looking around and pointing at every sign. "Oh, can we go see if they have ice cream here, Chara!" The short goat interrupted, skipping along the street.
Chara turned with a warm smile. "Rei... they probably do not have ice cream here. Candy apples, on the other hand... I think I see a stand over there." the young magician pointed a finger towards a nearby stall along the street, and Asriel went running after it.
"...Even here, old problems exist, though. It seems most beings that end up here are human. Nonhumans, like my brother... are distrusted, for one reason or another."
Chara put their hands behind their head and stretched, noticing a questioning look enter Vin's face. "I hadn't forgot about your other question. This world is... hostile, at least within this area. I would rather be elsewhere, but Rei... he wanted to explore the pale moors, as this place is called. And it's hard for me to say no to him, especially when he's this happy."
Chara gave a short smile. "Most primes that come here are weakened, with a small fraction of their abilities. It appears to be Omni's will... it is likely he deprived you of such materials for a reason, and if you can use them to create your brand of magic..." Chara's eyes grew red, briefly, at the statement, "then, likely, it will be far more difficult to use such abilities until you gain some more omnilium... There is no reasoning, to my understanding, of how a prime gains such, but all primes do... generate it? Accumulate it? Are granted it?...No one really knows the how." Chara finally admitted with a shrug, leaning forward. "One of the few advantages of being a secondary is that this weakening is less apparent. Unlike a prime, however, we cannot gain power so quickly. We cannot generate or use omnilium. It is one of the reasons primes are the focus of this place." Chara added.
"And I am no Mancer, Human." The young child added with a smile. "My name is just Chara Dreemurr. Just as you are Vin Venture, correct?"
