Beach Filler Episode (OPEN)

Surprisingly enough, Molly didn't disintegrate into Omnilium dust. There was no borderline cremation like he had experienced in the Nexus.

"You made it!" Molly said.

"Hm? You expected me here?" Gil blinked curiously.

"I called you and invited you!" Molly said with an evident growl, "Now we can spend the day together, right ?"

Gil nodded and pat her head, "Sure thing. I didn't get any phone calls though, maybe it's because I was in Karl's verse... I need to have a chat with that man."

"Eh hem! Ladies first," Molly sassed him.

"Hey, are you okay? You've got kind of this..." Gil trailed off, not wanting to startle the girl, but he saw a dark strand of magic leaking out of her ear with a wispy tail.

"Hm? Sure I am. And did I get ice cream on my nose again?" The youth crinkled her nose in an adorable way, making it look like she was posing for a pigture and ready to say oink.

Noted. Gildarts thought to himself but he did not have the skill set to trace its origin. So he left it be.

"So what's on the plan for your big beach day then?" Gil asked.

"Well, since Pinkie is still surfing I think we can mostly do whatever we want... I might be in a little trouble with Guu though. I kind of snuck out." A confession. What did authority and parent figures do when their kids did something like this? It was pretty much a ploy so if Guu called, Gildarts would get less mad. But there was also a spec of a genuine responsible character in there that the youth was reflecting and also manipulating to her own liking.

"Uh..." classic dad trail off initiated. "Guu is the princess so whatever she says goes, but it would probably be good for me to call her and let her know you're safe since she probably thinks your missing."

Molly began, "I don't think your phone works since you always get my calls late and never pick-"

"Hi Guu!" Gil declared and Molly's face fell flat.

"Oh haha, your voicemail box message thing is quite funny I thought you had answered. Yeah so I'm here at the beach with Molly and she says that she didn't come here with permission, so... Oh now she's telling me Pinkie Pie is her chaperone pony, but that she was in disguise or something. Just wanted you to know I was here with her. Will expect a phone call back but for now I'm just gonna kind of look after her. Oh, I'm alive by the way! Unlike last time... Bad joke. Anyway take care. She'll get home safe, I'll send her home tonight around dark."

Gildarts was... Much more coherent now, more responsible. It was odd. And he had dialed the phone correctly. He was talking in full sentences. Had something happened the girl had missed before and after Dante's Abyss? Or maybe fighting really did bring out the best in the mage.

Maybe that's why he did it and was so good at it. Molly pondered this, but not for long.

"I've never been on a ferris wheel," Gildarts said like a child in wonder with a growing smile as he looked over yonder to the boardwalk. He could now experience the lighter sides of life without (mostly) worrying about breaking everything and killing everyone.

He was surrounded by family. Familiar faces of Ambrosia and otherwise.
