Waiting for Pirate Man
#28
Way too many times have I gone through these teleporters, the split second when your body realized it was in two places at once twisted my stomach into a pretzel. And this is before you consider that they loved to dump me in front of demons ready to tear me limb from limb. I immediately resolved to never go through one again, despite the fact that I knew it was a promise as I would have to use the teleporter just to get back without going through the Empire. It would to bitch about later, as more immediately concerns came straight to the fore as the flash of green light that was my entrance disappeared and I was was left out in the open, coverless, white parking lot that was the Nexus.

Either by design or luck I spawned close enough to the fountain centered in the monotone plane of existence that I could see the skirmish that clashed around it. I picked out enough detail that I could tell the different combatants apart and visualize who was on each side, and as expected from anything associated with the pink walking disaster zone that was Guu they all looked ridiculous. Should I talk about the clown with horns, the three color coded Sailor Moon knock offs, or the princess? Not Guu, the OTHER princess, the one who was shakily trying to get back on her feet with support from the fountain. Guu herself had taken a change, no longer the ten year old with the dead eye stare but an adult with actual features. Why she was like that I'd ask after I brought the pain.

"Another freak joins the fight! Where do they all come from?" A woman in a purple dress had taken the fight to the air with someone with the exact kit as her yelled out, as those not already focused on their own melee turned their focus to me. I responded by pulling the heavy assault rifle to my hand and flipped up the scope, and found one of the engines that kept her flying under the cross hair. Two quick pulls of the trigger punched two bullets right into the jet and she found herself cartwheeling through the air as she desperately tried to not crash onto her face.

"Come on, Guu, I thought you were up against an army. This looks more like an army's marching band" I shouted the insult with a deep laugh to follow. Guu shrugged in return with a sheepish grin, but any banter thrown between us was cut short when the red haired bimbo squared off against me. Her look reminded me very much Guu classic: eternally bored looking and unintimidating, yet a shiver went down my spine as if a spook was ready to show itself.

"I see. You think of yourself as some kind of warrior," she spoke in a flat voice, "maybe this fight will be interesting". I loaded the HAR's rocket pods as she gabbed. I didn't see what she was suppose to threaten me with no weapon, only for her to hold her hands in front of her and I saw the ripple in the air. I threw myself to the side and rolled away, but I felt the beam of force slam into my side as it ripped across the Nexus. My ribs survived the impact, the wind was knocked out of me and I crawled to my feet as she threw several long spikes at me with surprising force, including one that punched through my shoulder armor. Despite the direct hit, she looked unchanged in her mood.

"Eat this!" I roared as stood back to full height. The rocket pods on the rifle were charged, and I let loose a storm of mini-missile at here and waited for the limbs to fly. But she stood her ground, and the missiles explodes feet in front of her, only for her to come out untouched.

"Oh, I hoped you would be more of a challenge than that. How unfor-"

I stopped her when I whipped out a middle finger from my off hand, as I switched the assault rifle with the grapple gun..

"Rude! No one does that to me!" I apparently had hit a nerve, as her stare turned intense. The shiver down my spine turned to sharp pains inside my head, as the psychic tried to force herself into my mind. But when she tried to worm her way through, I grit my teeth and with great pains aimed the grapple gun. The first hook arced towards her, and with her focus on me the bard was to far in her defenses that when she tried to deflect it the hook still sunk into her leg. I saw the briefest squint from the leotard wearing idiot as she looked at it, only for sudden realization to happen after the second hook was fired over her head and attach itself to the fountain. She grabbed at the steeel cable, but couldn't get it out before the it tightened as she was pulled across the Nexus floor with a scream.

I laughed hard enough that I forgot I was still bleeding from a gash in my upper torso and that it felt like someone tried to ram a frozen drill through my brain.

"Lets end this" I clipped the empty gun to my belt and reach over my back with both hands to grab the heaviest weapon in my arsenal. It felt good to wield in my hands again, a righteous power like a hammer of a judge. Its girth was held out before me, the support arms clamped onto my armor. My hands held it tightly, pure power at my disposal. The big gun was now for all to see.

"Alright you primitive screwheads. You see this? This is the Big Fucking Gun 9000! Bare witness to its capacity for destruction and violence. The demons of Hell couldn't stand before the miniature sun in my hands, and the earth broke as it struck them down! Ain't nothing that could survive against this achievement of plasma. Now let me ask you: who wanna make my fucking day?!"
