One cohesive unit. That's what the two of them were. It didn't matter whether it was one hundred enemy shinobi, or a single, all powerful being. Minato and Kakashi would always work as a cohesive unit. They had worked together for so long that they had developed excellent team work, and it felt like nothing had changed in that regard.
Minato had noticed the large boulder that his partner's alien weapon had separated from the cave wall, dashing away from the warlock as the boulder flew through the air. No doubt in his mind that their ghastly enemy had noticed it and already began preparing a defense. But that wasn't what was important right now. Minato had entered sage mode and, although he couldn't sustain the form for as long as his master, it's boost had helped him in avoiding the impact area.
The fair haired ninja came to a sliding stop, spinning on the balls of his feet to see the large boulder slam into the enemy, shattering into rubble and dust as the frustrated howls of the Warlock echoed throughout the cavern. Minato didn't want to waste time, using the dust as a distraction, he dashed towards the wall, using his momentum and speed to take a few, large, strides up it. 'Now or never.' Minato spoke softly as he pulled himself into a crouching position before swiftly launching himself from the wall, towards their opponent.
'You are going to regret that.' The warlock stated, anger in his voice, as he raised his hand. A ball of coalescing, purple, energy in his hand.
'Hey!' the former kage's voice called out as he landed on the purple apparition, clinging to his foe's torso and breaking his concentration. 'Don't forget about me.' Minato smiled mockingly as he lifted his weapon to the entity's chest.
'Get off me!' the Warlock yelled as a blast of energy sent the blonde man flying across the room. His wounds ached, but he couldn't let that stop him now.
'Now Kakashi!' Minato exclaimed in pain and confidence as his empowered comrade descended upon the warlock. The silver haired man's fist was on a direct course for the purple warlock's head, but the warlock had noticed the man descending upon him, and had unleashed a bolt of purple energy. Both attacks collided with their intended targets at the same time. The Warlock let out a large, involuntary, noise as the empowered fist slammed itself into his skull, Kakashi was thrown backwards into Minato, pushing the two ninja back and into a wall.
'Hey, I caught you.' Minato laughed as he stumbled forward.
'That… that was hardly a catch.' Kakashi retorted as he gathered his senses, his head still spinning a little from the impact.
Minato laughed, stinging sensations plaguing his body and wounds reminding him that he should stop doing that when he was injured. He glanced at Kakashi as he pulled his small weapon from his jacket. Kakashi nodded, heaved his weapon up, pointed it in the direction of the warlock, and began pulling and hurling smaller sections of rock at the being.
'I just need a little distraction.' Minato thought to himself as he dashed across the tunnel. Once again climbing a wall and launching himself. The only difference this time was his preparation. He had been clutching his weapon close, preparing himself. He knew that he would not be able to hold himself steady this time.
'This again?' the warlock scoffed, bored of the blonde man's antics. Minato did not reply, he just grinned as the sound of crickets echoed throughout the cavern.
