OHS: Omniverse High School(In Chracter) - Day 1
#46
Proto Man shuffled uncomfortably in the back seat of the car.

Over the last few months, he had dreaded this day. The last thing he wanted was to go to high school as an 11-year-old. Why was he being punished for being smarter than his peers? It wasn't his fault that he picked up on concepts quicker than they did.

What was his fault had more to do with the computer system he had hacked at Monsteropolis' Middle School. Apparently, adults didn't like it when children hacked into their networks and replaced all of their important files and business accounts with thousands of various pictures of a shiba inus making goofy faces. Since his dads had been on the school board back in Monsteropolis, they had been able to pull enough strings to get Blues transferred to a high school in a neighboring town.

Now here he was... about to be thrown into a very large pond.

With a frown, Blues adjusted his sunglasses. Even though it was still technically autumn, he had taken to wearing the eyewear nearly all the time. For some reason, he wasn't an enormous fan of the sun hitting him in the face.

"Almost there, Blues," one of his dads--Dr. Light--said from the front seat. Dr. Light glanced over the back of the passenger seat and smiled at the pensive teenager. "Your younger brother is going to enjoy listening to how much fun you're going to have here."

"Woo," the boy muttered as he watched the school building approach.

"Let's hope you're not too late," his other dad--Dr. Wily--replied, his expression twisted in frustration as he glanced at the clock. "Stupid expressway traffic... we need to make sure he doesn't miss the bus again."

"Yes, yes, Albert," Dr. Light said with a smile as he reached for something in the seat next to him. "Take this, Blues, in case it gets cold later." With that, he handed the boy a large yellow scarf.

"Thanks, Dad," Blues said softly as he flashed a faux smile to both his fathers and exited the car.

"Don't forget the letter!" Dr. Wily shouted as his domestic partner reached out the window to hand Blues a form detailing his transfer status. Blues grabbed the note and hustled into the giant school building, which loomed high over his head like a giant crypt.

"What are you doing?" An angry voice shouted once Blues made it through the front doors. A tall, scary-looking man with dark skin and red hair glared down at the preteen prodigy. "This is Omniverse High, not Omniverse daycare!"

"I'm sorry, Mister, but I'm a new student." Blues lifted the form up so the administrator could read it. Once he did, it was thrust back down at him.

"I am Vice Principal Ganondorf. Do what I say, and we'll get along fine." Despite the words, the man's scowl and his tone didn't invite any comfort. "Take that to Room 100 and see the Dean... he'll deal with you."

With a nod, Blues hustled down the hallway that Ganondorf pointed him too. Once he made it to room 100, he found himself staring across a desk at an equally unsettling administrative figure. The Dean, a man with a sneer and snake eyes, reviewed the paper for a few moments before turning to his computer.

"Just because you're smart doesn't make you special," he spoke without looking away from his screen. "And if you try any of that hacker nonsense with our systems, I'll make sure you wind up in juvie... we clear?"

"Uh, yes, Sir," Blues whispered as he received a crisp sheet of paper with his schedule.

"You won't be that late... but get moving. Give this slip to Mr. Colonel,," Shang Tsung barked, prompting the boy to evacuate the office and head to his first period class.

In a sign that someone was looking out for him, Blues' first period was 'computers.' When he made it to class, he was pleased to find he hadn't missed any instruction. The teacher simply glanced at the slip from the dean's office and gestured to an open terminal.

"Find a seat. We work diligently here."

Blues nodded and rushed to a chair next to an older boy with a nefarious look on his face. The teenager grinned at Blues before turning to continue a search on the internet.

Just wonderful...
