TRIXIE vs. AMATERASU

The sun had once again risen upon the graveyardverse. The place would almost be idyllic if not for the air of hostility that permeated the island. The sun goddess, Amaterasu, breathed deeply, inhaling the sweet scent of a nearby bed of flowers. A nearby sound, the snapping of a twig, her animalistic ears snapped to attention. Someone was watching, someone was lurking within the shadows of the forest. Amaterasu’s eyes scanned the treeline for her stalker.

“Hello?” the proud goddess spoke with clarity, “show yourself!”

Rapacious eyes pierced through the underbrush, boring holes of hunger through Ammy’s heart. Trixie charged through the bramble, not unlike a stampeding rhino. With grace the sun goddess sidestepped her opponent’s reckless charge. The woman who stood before the goddess was weathered and beaten, but a certain feral aspect. Bloodthirst pulsed dangerously beneath the infected soldier’s eyes, and an unending hunger filled her gut. A bestial roar echoed throughout the flower-field and marked the start of another charge.

Entropic energy crackled to life in Trixie’s palm, her body instinctively controlled the destructive force. Sheering arcs of crimson lightning snapped around a sphere of corrupted omnilium. Amaterasu could only watch in abject horror as the orb was slammed into her chest. Her entire being shuddered and threatened to dissolve. The energy pulsed through her veins and burned with the heat of a forge. Snapping bolts of blood-red lightning chewed into her flesh, leaving charred pock marks across her body. Every moment was agony, and time seemed frozen as her body absorbed the tainted omnilium. Every breath inhaled glass and every heartbeat sent cinders through her veins. The blood-curdling scream of a dying goddess pierced the silence of the island.

Trixie watched her handiwork in devilish amusement. Her inner pragmatist urged her to push the advantage, but the sadist hidden in the syringe relished the prolonged suffering of Amaterasu. Unfortunately the suffering was over almost as quickly as it began, the orb exited through Ammy’s back and exploded into a brilliant display of light. The goddess shuddered and shook as painful aftershocks wracked her body. She was still alive, and for that she was thankful, but the ravenous Trixie had no intention of sparing her meal. A third charge, reckless and vicious propelled the raging zombie forward. Sluggishly Amaterasu’s body responded instinctively to the incoming assault. With near-perfect timing the goddess preformed a pirouette to sidestep her opponents onslaught. Before Trixie could turn around Ammy rushed forward and delivered a wicked kick to the back of Trixie’s already injured leg.

The beast screamed in pain and buckled to the ground.

The goddess took the opportunity and fled into the forest.
