Quote:From Day 2 Morning & Evening
Kakashi's plan had worked and the foul animal had been covered by an avalanche of rubble, it's lifeless legs stuck upwards from the rubble like boney protrusions on it's body. 'Well…' Minato began as he crouched down in front of the pile of rubble. 'That takes care of that.' He finished. The strange animal was definitely dead. Which meant that they had their food for the night, albeit how disgusting it looked at the moment.
Kakashi dropped from the tree, lugging his weapon over his shoulder as he eyed the rubble. 'Is it dead?' The scarecrow-like man asked. 'Yep, you got it.' Minato replied as he began clearing the rocks away from the body.
'What are you doing?' the masked man asked, slightly worried that the bony animal may not be dead. 'It doesn't look appetizing but… It's our food for the day.' Minato sighed, he didn't like the idea any more than Kakashi, but they needed to stay fed. Plus they had already spent so much time fighting the damn thing, the golden haired ninja doubted that there would be any animals left in the area. Kakashi nodded resentfully as he joined Minato in clearing the rubble that covered most of the bear's carcass.
With the two of them working on clearing the area, the beast had been uncovered in no time. It's lifeless body just lay there, bloody and still. It was oddly peaceful, considering that the thing had just tried to maul them to death.
'So… we're eating this?' Kakashi mumbled, hesitation and disgust in his voice as the two examined the corpse. Minato nodded in agreement, partly at his question, and partly in agreement with the tones in his voice. The two shinobi sighed in unison as they reached for the animal, Kakashi lifting it's front half, and Minato lifting it's back half. They hoisted it up over their shoulders and away from the rock slide, it would be much easier to skin and cook that way.
It had gotten late, and the two ninja had decided that it would be best to make camp here, rather than heading out and searching for another area, while carrying all the meat at the same time. They had just spent hours skinning and cleaning the bear they had killed, making sure that the meat they scavenged from it wasn't rotten. So they decided to set up a fire pit and cook their meal.
The two shinobi sat in silence, gazing at the flickering flames of the fire. The bear meat that they had positions above the small inferno made a cracking noise as the heat and flames cooked it.
