Grundy took up an entire row of seats to himself, eeclining lazily as the clanking deathtrap sailed across the Nexus. He was wearing a black and orange football jersey with the numbers "77" on the front, and his name on the back in block letters. The noise and chaos around him didn't bother him much, the giant of a teen tracing out plays in the worn leather of the seat in front of him.
Captain of the football team. He was glad he'd practice over the summer, and once he'd gone to tryouts, the coach was impressed with his arm. Solomon Grundy could throw a fifty yard bullet pass, or scramble for a twenty yard gain. Not to mention he was tough to take out. This year was looking to be a good one.
A couple seats away, Grundy spied one of the freshman girls walking towards him. She stopped by his seat and leaned her head over, with a wad of currency in her hand.
"Hey. Those losers are bothering us up front. Take care of it for me?" She smiled, a wicked glint in her eye.
Grundy shrugged and accepted the money. He was getting bored with the ride, anyway, and stood up once the girl left. Clomping down the aisle towards the back, he cracked his knuckles.
"Next person to bother up front goes for toilet swim when we get to school. Grundy make sure of it."
He stalked back, scanning the row of students, when suddenly the bus lurched and a kid stumbled out into the aisle in front of him. As Koal climbed back into his seat, Grundy spoke again.
"You funny man? We got funny man here. Grundy bet dork like you not have stones to mess, right?"
