Return to Coruscant [Exemplary]
#11
It didn't take long for the paranoia to spread. He rationalized the situation and saw they had good reason. Still, this was not how he wanted things to happen. The alarms blared. The authoritative voices spoke and soon the pathway cleared of all civilians and all that was left had been the robot. He stood there expecting a cadre of Imperials, yet nothing was immediately visible. Had he been human, this would be where he held his breath, tightened his muscles and let adrenaline prep him during the calm before the storm. He was out in the open. He was in Tier One. He was wanted for a violent murder. Whether they listened to his side of things or not, he was still dangerous in the Empire's eyes. Can't have a machine running around immolating people, he understood. But he also didn't want to get dismantled on the spot. Self preservation was an interesting thing.

Would they send snipers? Would it be an extermination team? His mind raced with possibilities, scenarios and solutions. Taking the knowledge he had of the Stormtroopers and their training, combined with the ruthless efficiency of their commander, Judge Dredd and his own skills, survival should he account for worst case scenario, came to 46%. Not the odds he liked, but of course he was capable of ignoring the statistics. Best case scenario saw limited wounded soldiers and virtually no damage to his own frame. Should he run now then his chances would plummet. So many variables. So many things to account for that had no real formula for solving. Human emotion, societal pressures, job duty, prejudices, mental instabilities, incompetence.

So he stood there. Alone. On the path from the elevator toward the dizzying sky scrapers of the metropolis. If they came for him, he would narrow his scope and solve for the immediate equation. Who came for him though, that was an unknown. It was a curiosity that lit up his processors. A platoon he could handle. Dredd would prove fatal if met head on. A hunter, completely blank in form of data. Either way he didn't see himself finishing this without a fight, whether he wanted on or not. And he most certainly had enough violence to last him a while, but again...self preservation was an interesting thing.

The sound of metal, I want to be you. I should learn to be a man...like you.
