Despite what his partner thought, Koal could hear him judging to himself. It was a skill one needed to pick up on the streets, so you knew when shit was about to go down. As the young man steered at the ever-moving flames, the quietlyly spoken words that Ballad spoke to himself sounded distant at first but became clear as the young man focused. Plan? What plan? Why the need for secrecy?
" What plan!?" Koal's eyes had darkened to a wine-red color displaying his fierce attitude. The Bayard was hiding things from him!? Just like everyone else. His lip curled into a snarl at the thought, showing off his fangs. But anger would not serve him here, he sucked in a deep breath, his thoughts calming down. He released the captive breath, his eyes reverting back to their original color.
Seraph's laughter echoed through his head. Koal felt ashamed of himself, he let his anger cloud his thoughts. " Sorry, I didn't mean to tell at you. It's been a long day. Please forgive me, old friend." For some reason, the thought of losing a potential friend in this nightmare tore at his mind. He sat back down, Ballad having a downright pissed of look on his face, looking personally offended at being interrupted from his muttering.
" I don't like being kept out of the loop," his voice was quiet, his eyes glued to the floor, " I don't like not being trusted." He let a rare moment of vulnerability show in his eyes, before hardening them, the violet orbs liking ad if they'd been made from diamonds. " I want answers."
