Day 1 Evening
#59
My blond companion threw his strange weapon at the beast, while letting loose a furious war cry. The green shell soared through the air, landing squarely between the blinded behemoth's defective eyes in the middle of its armored skull. The force of the blow flung the beast's head to the side, stunning it for a handful of precious seconds. I made sure not to waste this rare opportunity provided by my teammate, and flung as many stones as I could from my weapon at the least armored part of its body I could identify, an exposed gouge in its side, bloodied and burned by the effects of my companions' earlier efforts.

My arms had long since become numb from the endless process of repeatedly loading and firing the slingshot, the unassuming device had surprisingly proven its worth when my aim struck true and I managed to take the guardian's one remaining eye out. Enraged at the loss of one of its senses, it flailed and thrashed trying to detach the stubborn psychic from his perch atop its back, as well as stop me or the blond hero from capitalizing on its sudden disadvantage.

While I wasn't bad with a bow, my slingshot skills were only slightly above atrocious, and I was forced to take quantity over quality as a I let loose a hail of jagged stones and sharp rocks. For every two shots that bounced harmlessly off the beast's armored torso, only one struck true against its debilitating wound, even so, that was acceptable, as every hit shook its colossal frame with pain, eliciting tormented howls from its maw.

The creature had had enough, it turned to face the source of its latest woes, protecting its exposed side and offering in exchange only a gargantuan, armored skull. It advanced towards me with lumbering steps, the very earth beneath my feet shook as it charged headlong at me. My reflexes, dulled as they were by my injuries, couldn't get me out of harm's way quickly enough as one of the beast's legs clipped me in my frantic attempt at dodging. My body was flung a fair distance before embracing the rough ground, agitating the wounds caused by the white haired demon. A whimper escaped my lips as my nerves were lit on fire for the umpteenth time that day.

Another ghastly shriek rung in my ears, as the green clad hero once again hurled his similarly colored weapon at the monster with the force of a cannonball, and the the psychic resumed stabbing at its exposed flesh. I forced myself to raise my head off the floor, and to flip over to my back and ready my slingshot, I couldn't let my equally stubborn companions hog all the glory now, could I?
