Knowing full well that it would take him an obscene amount of time to get his improvised bandages anywhere close to a knot, Somerled took Amaterasu up on her offer. Feeling must be a double-edged sword, the monster thought. Lacerations and broken bones would hinder and hurt in ways he had never known. At the same time however, it would be nice to be able to do all these precision actions without taking half an hour at a time, like buttoning up his shirt. It took fifteen fucking minutes to do it and what he’d get at the end of the day? Dead. He might as well have not even bothered. Hell, it wasn’t even the end of the day, it was two hours fucking later. God damn squirrels...
“Thanks,” Somerled thanked her again, casting his gaze back to the forest they had come from. Above that forest, ominous black clouds hung, raining fury down on any unfortunate soul who happened to be a part of it. Weaker, grey clouds spread all across the sky even further than the storm did.
“The butterfly effect!” the monster said excitedly, grinning ear to ear. Winds raced outwards, across the fields of grass, stirring it up magnificently. “The smallest action can spur on massive events. If you don’t mind waiting, stirring up something as simple as that storm wouldn’t take that much power.” Too bad the sun wasn’t on the other side of the storm, Somerled thought, it would have turned the sky a beautiful green. “I’ve caused more powerful storms with a breath!” He bragged, “I bet this silly little magician with his half-rate magic was too impatient for that. He probably just brute-forced it. No finesse.” His tone grew sharper. “Everyone I’ve seen try their hand at weather magic. It’s all the same! Why can’t they just appreciate the probabilities! The cascade to the storm is just as awe-inspiring as the storm itself. Not to mention you can put so much less energy into cascading into one than by just brute-force creating it. And then they don’t even bother to learn about clearing it all away! It’s arguably more impressive too! Storms can run their natural course and all, but if you can forcefully clear the skies, then it’s truly a testament to your power. But no, everyone needs to spring for thunder and lightning.” The monster’s rant came to a brief pause as he stopped to catch his breath.
What was originally intended to be a moment’s pause grew even longer as Somerled realised he’d probably just said what could would qualify as ‘way too much’.
“Uh... Sorry...” he apologized, trailing off. He quickly spun back to face the ruins of the city. “Alright! Ruined city!”
