Day 1 Evening

[Ruby Rose]

Guardian post. Flashbacks will come later.

The girl's hands shook more wildly than they already were; why was she confronted by such a gnarly, deformed giant, right after the trauma of dismembering a human being?! It was just as bad as the Colosseum. Her pupils were nothing more than pinpricks against dull silver discs, focused on what seemed to be the dirt at her feet, but at the same time not. The oversized weapon wrapped tightly in her palm shook more wildly than an object of its mass should have, and the grip became slippery and glossy with sweat.

"I-I... no..." She had been whispering incomplete sentences - hell, not even sentences, half-formed words to herself as the strange blond boy's blood seeped down her blade like a spreading virus. Her partner's eyes were constantly locked onto her back, fearing for the young girl's mental state. "Ruby..." She whispered worriedly, her tone little more than a squeak as she placed a thin hand to Ruby's spine. At her touch, the young teen's breathing seemed to slow, and her muscles seemed to slacken, yet she seemed to pay little attention to her partner; a simper caught Weiss's lips as she told herself that was the best she would get for now.

Ruby's terrified peepers shot up to the beast before her. "I... I can mull over that later..." She squeaked to herself, raising the colossal sword to bear towards the single foe. "For now... I have to help them..." With a final exhalation, she dug her blade into the earth below and braved the oncoming wave of force. Let's get this over with.

"GRAAAAARGH!!!" The colossus screeched into the gnawed confines of the cavern, stumbling backwards and favouring its injured leg. This was Ruby and Weiss's time to shine. "Weiss!" The cloaked crusader called to her partner. "White Rose!"

A wild, excited smirk crossed Weiss's lips.

Coiling back into a low stance, Ruby's muscles built into a spring-like structure, before spinning and flinging the enormous weapon as if it were a simple knife. The unwieldy blade tore a gash through the Giant's torso and finished in a tight grip produced by Weiss. She may not have had the power that Ruby possessed, but she sure as hell knew she could return the blade back to the now airborne teen. "Gyah!" She yelled as she hauled the weapon upwards, sending it whizzing through the air like a buzzsaw, slicing across the gap that seemed to once host the Giant's face.

Chink

The piercing sound echoed through the roars as the buster sword lightly impaled itself into the stone roof; surely it would slip before long. "Mr. Mouse!" Ruby called down to the recovering fusion. Simply by her gaze being locked on the pillar impaled in the Giant's back, Proto Mouse knew his job. Rushing in, the amalgamation's eyes locked onto the bare groin of the enormous opponent, before sailing a powerful fist into it.

"GROOOOOOAGH!" The Giant screeched again and bent double, shaking Ruby free from her perch and sending her plummeting. Switching her grip, Ruby hammered the blunt edge of the buster sword into the end of the pillar, knocking it through the monster's chest like a nail and pierced the earth with it. Landing in a heavy crouch and quickly retreating to the cave wall, Ruby, along with her four teammates, watched the Giant uselessly flail on the spike that had weighed it down for so long.

"Alright. We're nearly done here." Ruby panted, holding her buster sword in a simple backhand stance - much like she had seen her own Uncle Qrow use. "We can finish this!"

Side Note: Proto, do with the pillar what you wish XD You could leave it there for Spirit to deal with or make it easy for him and have the Giant remove himself from his awkward position.
