Day 1 Evening
#29
"Ururu would know how to start a fire. Desco hopes she finds her soon..." They had not actually agreed to partner up before being whisked away to the field but Desco didn't want to be alone out here. Her ninja skills would help a lot! Surely she could have speared a dozen fish with kunai in no time flat. Desco wasn't necessarily against fighting her either, as they were going to be rivals in the end anyway. But that could wait until they are at the end.

Time marches on and so must Desco. Spirit guy warned Desco of magic at the temple, but Desco was not at the temple so it didn't matter to her! The dirt road continued but after a little while the path split. Well, not quite split but another path appeared leading in another direction. It was much more overgrown than the road she was on, maybe it led somewhere? Dungeons were always supposed to be off the beaten path protected by puzzles which you needed artifacts to get past. Otherwise people would find them besides the chosen hero. Or perhaps they were avoided because of the regular monsters that are set to populate the outside. One day Desco would have to decide how to protect her own dungeon. Since there were no monsters, this must but a path leading to a puzzle!

It was good enough for the final boss to investigate. She could always retrace her steps later. On the rougher trail Desco could feel the ground more in her tentacles. Now that she was getting used to Yogsothoth being grounded she Desco was mindful of where she stepped to avoid the minor scrapes from sharp rocks and throny plants. She might be a final boss but she didn't have regeneration or healing magic, DA-like verse or otherwise. That was something the Omniverse hadn't allowed to regain yet.

Desco wandered down the new path away from the forest next to the road. Before long it turned and turned again. While lightly tree'd, the area's hills and trees made it difficult to see too far ahead even as she climbed a hill the path led up and then back down. Eventually it brought her to.... a Walnut Tree! It probably fed the squirrels close to the area. "Desco is lucky!" Forgetting for the moment that this could be a part of the puzzle of this path Desco jumped back on her tail in excitement then started to gather many nuts from up above in the tree. The ones on the ground may have gone bad so the ones up high still were best.

The final boss investigated the area after collecting her bounty, but nothing odd seemed to sparkle in, on, or near the tree. The path still continued past the tree so Desco hopped along once more with walnuts gathered in Yogsothoth's tentacles. Desco started to try to eat the walnuts. First she tried using the ground to crack them open but the dirt was too soft in this area to be of much use. Then she tried crushing them with her fist, tentacles, and a rock but each attempt also broke to pieces the nutmeat inside. She fished out the bigger chunks of those but wanted a clean way to break them apart.

She thought about using the teeth in her tentacles, but that reminded her of the all but forgotten toy she was given. She pulled it back out and examined it. She was just going to whack them with it but it seemed to have a fine sharp edge so Desco tried to use that. With a little effort it cut straight down the middle of the walnut leaving two halves read y to eat. "Success!" Well at least this was useful for something! Maybe it could be useful in combat too.

The path continued on but with yet more turns going back and forth eventually leading right back to where she had started, that dirt road. Or as much as it was where she started. "Well that was anti-climatic! Desco isn't going to find anything if she keeps following paths like that." Desco started walking down the road again. She did not think twice about whether she was still moving in the same direction again or had turned around on the road. The forest was on that side right?

After some time Desco noticed the sun managed to peak out from the cloud cover for the moment. Then was swallowed up again. It seemed like it had gotten through the sky from earlier but Desco couldn't tell which was she was facing and what way it started. Was it evening now? Either way, the final boss was getting bored again. Desco would have to find something to entertain herself... then she noticed a figure in the distance up ahead. An enemy! Had Desco come at last to what she was hoping to find? She charged forward, not that she could charge very quickly. Final Bosses do not move very quickly. As she got closer the figure became more familiar than stranger. There she was! "Ururu! Desco didn't expect to see you again so soon!"
