Day 1 Evening
#18
Weiss groaned as she laid down on the cold mountain snow, pain running through her arm. It wouldn’t have been anything to write home about for Weiss - Pain was part of being a career soldier, and of the two fights she’d gotten into in the omniverse, this was definitely far less debilitating.

It was just… What was that?
Walking around like a nimrod yelling for Ruby… that much was definitely her own blunder. she should have known that she might eventually run into trouble that way. She wasn’t going to be doing much to help anyone if she was dead in a ditch.
it was… After that, that things got… Fuzzy. Sort of like the time in Camelot, where she collapsed. Except now, she was a lot more conscious.

Weiss was a bit confrontational, but she’d never felt quite like that before. It was like she had to wrestle just to stay awake and conscious, and at some point she just felt… Well, not quite like herself.

It didn’t stop the guilt from welling up in her, though. She didn’t feel bad about what she’d said about Teucer, though perhaps she would have been able to word it a bit more poignantly with her full mental faculties, and she felt a little worried about telling two unknowns about Ruby like that. As much as she felt guilty about how she acted, she also should have known better than to practically try to inform two people she didn’t know about the perfect hostage situation.

But even then, even with what she didn’t know… She’d just tried to attack another living person with no other reason than aggravation. Even as off as she was feeling, she knew that in the end, it was her choice and her fault to attack. She’d trained to help people and fight monsters, not to fight people and become a monster.

She didn’t know what made her act like that, but… It worried her. Maybe her long period of isolation had made her even crazier than she’d realized. Being overly aggressive probably wasn’t that big of a stretch compared to hallucinating your best friend.

What if she felt that way again in front of Ruby? Would she be next? Weiss immediately shook her head. She didn’t know what had came over her… but there was one thing she knew for sure. It wasn’t in her to harm the girl under any circumstances. Unfortunately… she knew other people didn’t feel the same.

She knew Ruby was capable of taking care of herself, Weiss knew that, but she also knew her younger partner was far from invincible - even when she seemed to forget on occasion - and her slacking off had already cost Ruby her old life. She would not mess up again.

This mental tic was a huge issue, and Weiss hoped there was some sort of medical staff in the omniverse she could talk to after this, but she didn’t really have anything she could do about it right now. She had a lost partner who wanted to reunite with their lost team, and Weiss wasn’t sure

Weiss got up to her feet slowly, closing her eyes for just a moment as she felt the wind howl past her aching arm. Part of her felt like she wanted to see those two again, to apologize for the way she acted.
another part of her wanted them to stay away from the crazy woman for their own safety.

“...Attacking people for daring to get in my way.” Weiss muttered with a slight, frustrated sniffle. “...Guess I really do take after my father…”
