Bludd 'n' Hammer to the Deep!
#24
As a boy, Thor had loved sailing on the shining lake that surrounded Asgard. Thor remembered his father telling him that more than once he had taken the longer of two paths around Asgard simply because it involved passage over the lake. In Asgard, however, there technology allowed for the ride to hold smooth and sway-less in all but the most turbulent of waters. Compared to the smooth ride of the skiffs of Asgard the boat on which he rode was slow and clumsy.

The floor beneath him swayed rhythmically beneath him. Even with all his might and power it took Thor the better part of an hour to gain his sea legs, during which time there were several moments in which he had to seek aid in his balance from a nearby crate or railing. It didn't take long for Thor to begin enjoying the view after regaining his balance. The way the sun shimmered off of the vast expanse of water reminded him of the lake of Asgard. He looked up at the sky, then down at Mjolnir. Everything was so similar and yet so different. Why wouldn't the sky heed his call? It was because he was too weak. He had traveled to many worlds and each bowed before him as readily as the last. So why not here, why not now? He hadn't realized he was clenching his fist. He let his grip loosen.
He thought of what Loki would say. He had been thinking about his brother a lot. Loki would make a joke of it. He would make some innuendo out of it, saying he was having trouble preforming. "Well, are you brother?"
Thor spun around to see his brother standing there with that wicked grin. "Loki!" Thor shouted.
