The walk to the gate was surprisingly silent, he nor the ogre said anything in the two hours it took to reach their destination. Not like Zuko would start any conversation, he certainly didn't like talking to random strangers about trivial things. What else he'll talk about? His life? No way.
Well, he did mention some things at the fountain, but nothing really interesting happened there. Right now, he was thankfull for the long silence after their short presentation. Staying in silence for long periods of time was something he enjoyed doing during his trips back on the ship. Dealing with other people was never his thing.
That tranquility ceased to be once Zuko got himself through the gate. A light breeze passed by, carrying with it the smell of grass and nature. It was a beautifull day, the sun shining through a few clouds in the sky, the birds signing in the trees and small, wild flowers dancing in the sideways as the wind passed.
In a day like this, Zuko would probably spend it laying in bed and doing nothing, if not actively pursuing the Avatar if he ever decided to show up. But on these circunstanses, he was glad to see some life.
There was a pathway that followed after the gate. It went throughout the grasslands, not leading to anything visible in the nearby surroundings. There were some mountains far in the horizond, but nothing like a town or somewhere people could be found.
What would he do now? There was nowhere to go, he didn't have an objective or destination to follow, and this whole world was unknown to him. He had no idea what to expect from now on. The ogre was still with him at his side, but he seemed to be in the same situation as him.
“Now what?”, said Zuko, thinking aloud.
